"Wait, this was not a part of the deal!" he shouted, feeling the incredible urge to flip off the judges, but choosing against it.

Rhydar teleported to Runner, smirking and holding out the blindfold. "If you were listening, it was."
"Fuck." He quickly pulled his earpieces out and took the blindfold, wrapping it around his eyes as he began to feel the magic in the place come at him in waves. "I can sense most of the traps, just tell me where to walk whenever you can."
"Kay." He grabbed Runner and teleported him the start, then went back to the stands to instruct him. "You ready?"
"No, but let's go." He rubbed his nose.
Rhydar watched as the maze shifted, bringing the traps with it so that Runner couldn't cheat. "Damn. There goes that plan. Okkaaaay." He bounced on the balls of his feet, rubbing his hands together. "Fifteen steps forward, then–ah–five to the right. Pretty sure there's a pressure plate there."
Runner followed his instructions, then stopped right in front of the pressure plate. "How big is it?"
"Five by five. Gonna have to scooch around it."
He pinned himself against the leftside wall, slowly inching his way forward. "Am I clear yet?"
"Ahhhh." He waited a bit, leaning forward to get a better look. "You're good. Hard left, then straight away twenty steps. Stay on the left wall. The right's covered in lava."
"Sounds acceptable," he mumbled, keeping his left shoulder against the wall as he walked.
"Morrso, they really want us to die, don't they? Okay. Uh… right then go left immediately after that."
Runner felt something tickle the back of his throat and immediately dropped, feeling the jet of flame singe the back of his shirt. "The fuck, man?"
He cursed. "Epartaki! I didn't see it."
He let a growl escape his throat as he stood up again, wiping the dirt from his arms in frustration.
"I'm bad at this dude. Bear with me." He bit his lip, cursing when his piercing pitched his skin. "Okay, so… How good at swimming are you?" He scanned the maze, spotting a quick route out. But there was a catch. It was filled with a deep pool of water and infested with water nymphs–and not ones like Koralia. They looked murderous.
"Swimming? Decent, I guess. Why?"
He fidgeted–from nerves or excitement, he didn't know. "'Cause there's an easy way out that involves swimming through a 15 X 30-foot pool filled with angry water nymphs. Those suckers are fast."
He frowned. "No, nothing about me is fast, and I can't summon my dragon. We gotta go the long way." Then Runner's head got churning. "Wait, the invisibility ring!"
Rhydar grinned and pumped his fist in the air. "Fuck, yeah! Go for it!"
He searched around in his pocket, then pulled the ring out. "How do I activate it, again?"
"Send some magic into that sucker. Doesn't matter what kind. And have it on."
He slipped it onto his finger, then did as he was told. "Alright, where is the water?"
"Right five steps, left ten steps, then right again and straight ahead until you fall. Try to tread the water as little as possible."
"Shit, shit, shit, shit…." he did as he was told, then promptly bellyflopped onto the water because he miscounted.
