He shrugged, looking over to a fuming Theresa, who was having a hissy fit instead of going over to Fassor. "Never did take it personally."
He shrugged, looking over to a fuming Theresa, who was having a hissy fit instead of going over to Fassor. "Never did take it personally."
"Should I go….?" he pointed over in her direction.
Rhydar smirked. "Leave her. She'll have to get over it soon enough. I have a feeling it's gonna be a trust exercise or some shit."
He sighed. "This was done on purpose." The statement didn't fully make the frustration fade, but he felt a little better after getting it out.
Rhydar nodded.
"Okay, males and females. Your job is to guide your teammate through a maze."
Re announcer paused, letting the students try to plan ahead.
He turned to Rhydar. "What do you what, the maze or the person guiding?"
He narrowed his eyes up at the hidden judges. "I doubt that's all of it."
He sighed, rubbing his nose. "This is fun."
Rhydar snorted. "It's not meant to be fun. It's meant to challenge your skills and capabilities. To get you ready for war." He gave Runner a pointed look. "And to see how long it takes until you crack."
"Five minutes, tops," he said, allowing himself a joking grin.
Rhydar threw his head back and let out an amused "Ha!" He grinned at Runner. "I see why Tess likes you."
He began to feel more and more comfortable around Rhydar. "No, it's the abs," he said, patting his stomach.
His lips settled in a crooked smile. "That too." His tongue flicked out and ran along his lip ring, a nervous habit he never really noticed. "Could they stop dragging it out and get this thing over with? I'm too old for this." He grumbled the last part.
"It's for dramatics. It's televised, isn't it?" He said. "They're probably too busy filming the fights right now."
Rhydar closed an eye while he tilted his head and thought about it. "Meh. Haven't been around much to really pay attention. But I think I remember Maggie saying somthin' about that. Not too sure. Probably was drinkin' then."
"You? Drinking? No way." He scanned the crowd of people, feeling a bit antsy himself.
Rhydar snorted. "Tess and I fight over the stash. She gets piiiissed when I 'regulate' her alcohol consumption."
"I would tell her to stop, but she doesn't listen to me." He shook his head, remembering the first thing she wanted to do when he returned was to get him drunk.
He rolled his eyes. "She doesn't listen to anyone. At least she's clean, so there's that I guess."
He nodded. "That I made sure of."
He looked at Runner from the corner of his eyes, cocking his head to the side in slight confusion. "Made sure of what?"
He shook his head. "Now's not the time." He hesitated for a moment, then continued. "We'll talk later, though."
Rhydar nodded and shifted. "I did not spend nineteen thousand years avoiding this place to be stuck waiting for entertainment."
"Now that you all have made your plans… I suppose it's time to tell you some minor details regarding this maze!" The announcer said. "You and your partner will each have a chance to guide and be guided through the maze. The one in the maze will be blindfolded. AND there are traps everywhere!" He sounded way too excited.
"This guy sounds like he has a hard-on over this." The blindfold shouldn't be much of a problem for him, but he was gonna leave it up to Rhydar.
"I wouldn't doubt it…" he muttered. "I'm really bad at explaining directions, so how early you want me to make of fool out of probably both of us is up to you."
