Ischvinðar
Ischvinðar is an ancient religion practiced largely throughout Northern/ North- Eastern Azafát, though the practices vary widely depending on the region.
-The King (but a different myth than the one that became the religion; mixed views of him as a heretic or a misguided but honorable ruler)
Although Ischvind, as an entity, is described as one, They are more like one corporation of an infinite number of Aspects. These Aspects are vague, followers adhering to the notion that Ischvind has a presence in all things— living, unliving, and metaphorical. This has lead to a rather utilitarian approach to worship. For example, a weaver may praise the Aspects that control the flow of Threads or the health of sheep, woodcraft to keep their loom strong, and the tides of the sea and trading vessels that allow for their economic success. A warrior, on the other hand, may worship Ischvind as a vessel of honor and Their governance on the outcome of a battle.
In Vældrac, specifically, Ischvinðar has birthed a large Cult of Heroes. As a warring culture, the Vældic people use their deity to exemplify different aspects of their desired lifestyle and social order. Over centuries, the people have turned fables of individuals embodying the “most important” aspects of Ischvind and turned the subjects into hagiographic symbols of heroism, stoicism, and order within the community to teach future generations of warriors and citizens how to behave.
