Vamir has always been just an outpost, in times past meant to protect something - though what, exactly, has been forgotten with the passage of time. Now it is simply a reminder, and a way for most people to access The Starfall Arena.

Among the people living there Caros was born, unremarkable by most circumstances. At the time the arena didn't exist and those serving knew what they were protecting. Caros was told never to go near it, but what child ever listens? In his teen years the curiosity got the better of him, and before he knew it Caros had pledged himself to service of an ancient being he didn't fully understand.

The being, now a patron for his warlock powers, sought destruction and used Caros to get it. Having someone that could be its agent in the world made the entity more powerful, and in time that drew attention from those that had originally created the outpost. With help they sealed the entity away once more, and Caros fled before he could be killed for what he had done.

Feeling guilty, Caros hid away but he couldn't stay like that forever. Eventually The Sovereign Galen found him and offered him redemption, and Caros served. It was then that he found out he had half-siblings, the man who had fathered him getting around quite a bit, and Caros felt for the first time in a long time he had found family. But it was not to last, for soon the Sovereign Galen's evil became apparent and Caros was stuck. If he left he'd lose not just his family but he'd also likely be hunted and killed by the entity.

Then Zaela took up the Sovereign's mantle. She gave Caros a chance to explain, and once he had she offered him help - her husband was a practiced magical lawyer able to find the loop hole in the contract he had made to keep him safe. As punishment for the crimes he had perpetuated under the Sovereign Galen, Zaela set Caros to guard the town and make sure that the entity would never be set free again by someone lured in as he once was. Caros had no objections to this, heading out to do his duty for as long as necessary.
