On the eve of Atlyn's birth one of the druids in town known for her fortune-telling was doing a routine reading and came across something highly unusual; a prophecy about a young woman to be born who would help rid the land of great evil. She took this to mean Atlyn, and when the elf was born her parents were quick to send her off to The Mirrored Slopes in hopes that the magically inclined there would be able to help her, especially as the mountain is a haven for druids of all circles.
Atlyn studied under them all her life, but she never felt special, never felt as if she was destined for anything. Her powers were not particularly strong, especially for a druid, and there was simply nothing outstanding about her. At least not until The Sovereign Galen tracked her down, as the entity thought the woman who had told the prophecy to be one of the Mystics and he was searching for her. Atlyn felt something as she looked upon this creature, this thing of such great power it commanded the fear and respect of the known world.
Though she was not a mystic, and she knew nothing of the woman the Sovereign Galen sought, there was some use for her among the ranks of his people so he took her in. Slowly Atlyn found her half-siblings, all spawned from the same father, and began to bring them together. They made a team, some of the best the Sovereign Galen had serving as his means of keeping threats in check and other things in that line.
When Zaela took up the Sovereign's mantle she knew all those who served under the Sovereign Galen needed to be punished for what they had done. The others, however, expressed remorse for what they had done and were being blackmailed or otherwise coerced into it with the promise of something only he could give them. But Atlyn.....Atlyn had no such remorse, and she held her head high as Zaela handed out punishment - for Atlyn to live a hundred years as animals, aware of all her lives and forced to depend on others to continue to live. Zaela can only hope this will give her time to think on what she's done and find some way to realize what she did was wrong.
