(Ok ^^)
She frowned. "I'm learning. Who are you? You're not Blake."
(Ok ^^)
She frowned. "I'm learning. Who are you? You're not Blake."
“Where you expecting him?” I asked
"Not 'till dinner." She stood up, holding the globe tightly. "What are you doing here?"
“I was wondering around and ended up here. What’s your name?” I moved a little closer to her
"I'm Melanie." She stared you down stubbornly. "What's your name? Are you a new shadow spirit?"
“I’m Maddie, and no. Blake wants me to donate my aura. What is that you’re holding?”
(I have to go for a bit, see you later)
She looked down at the object in her hands. "It's a soul," she said matter-of-factly, holding it up.It was large and egg-shaped, and looked like it was made of pale gold glass. "It's just a pretend soul, though. If you took out a person's real soul, they would die." She watched you seriously. "I'm learning how to read them."
(Bye)
“Oh, cool. Can you do me a favour and not tell Blake I’m here or was here? he kinda said I’d be punished if I disobeyed orders and that’s kinda what I’m doing.” I made a small smile that quickly faded. “Why are you in here, Melanie?”
She straightened proudly. "I'm Blake's adopted daughter. He's teaching me lots of things about energy and magic. He says I'm very powerful. I can see your aura right now." She peered at you. "You have more colors than a shadow spirit. You're sad, too." Her expression returned to one of suspicion. "Why are you here? Why doesn't Blake want you to wander around?"
“Maybe he does have a heart,” I mumbled. “I was told to stay in my room until he need me, I haven’t quite agreed to the aura thing and now he is keeping me against my will. I just wanna get to my friends and mourn my other.” A tear slipped from my eye.
She hesitated. "Someone died?"
I nodded. “My friend, a demon, Crash. I asked Blake if he could train us and he said yes to me but Crash just fought some of Blake’s minions. A Russian girl, shot him. Then Blake told me to go to my room. Obviously I’m not obeying that order.”
Melanie started to look upset. "Why are you calling Dad a bad person? He's not! He's a good person! He wouldn't let that happen! You're lying." She cradled the shimmering glass soul and turned away from you. But there was a trace of doubt in her voice.
“I’m sorry. But in my encounters with him, they haven’t been so good. He kidnapped me, his minions have hurt my friends and then threatened me. I mean, I’m used to punishment but I can’t go though that again. I’m sorry Melanie.”
She was silent for a time, conflict evident on her face. At last, she turned back to look at you, her eyes dark. Something in the air changed subtly: the sunlight wasn't as warm.
"Promise you're telling the truth?" she asked quietly. "Promise Dad's doing the wrong thing?"
“I promise. My friends are here, coming to get me, you can come if you like?” I held out my pinky finger to seal my promise.
She returned the gesture, and you had the uneasy sensation of making a deal with the devil. "I'm staying here. But I'll help you." She closed her eyes, and the room shuddered. A strange sound came, like sand sifting through an hourglass. Slowly, the blue-and-white walls faded and were replaced by an endless black space filled with glowing points and strands of light.
In this place, Melanie was surrounded by a sharp white light. She reached out and sorted through the lights, pulling them apart until she found what she wanted.
"There," she said. "I found your friends." She picked up two small threads of color and handed them to you. "Follow where they point, and you'll find them." The world returned to normal, and she yawned widely.
“Thank you, thank you so much,” I kissed her gently on the cheek. “Here,” I transfigured a black sleeping dragon out of my magic and made it harden. “For you, something to remember me by, just in case I never see you again.” I passed it gently to her.
She smiled at you sleepily. "Thank-you, Maddie. Dad says I'll be traveling to the real world when I old enough. When I do, I'll come see you." She walked to the far side of the room and used a crayon to draw a small door in the wall. It solidified and she opened it, revealing a cozy bedroom. "Good-bye."
“Good-bye.” I smiled at her as she disappeared into the room. When she was gone, I turned around and left her room, leaving a hand print on the door next to hers, a small surprise for when she wakes up. I started to follow the arrows directions.
The way was much easier to follow now, for some reason. The hallways were no longer ominously silent, either. You could hear distant voices, quiet footsteps, and doors creaking all around you. It was as if the entire household were searching for something…or someone.
(Shall we do a bit more, then pause and wait for @Amber? I do have to go to bed soon, so I can't stay much longer anyway)
(Yeah, we’ll do a couple more until you have to go)
I poked my head around the corner to make sure the coast was clear.
It looked fine and you almost stepped forward, but then a door on one side suddenly crashed open and Morgan stormed out.
"TRIUS SCUMBAG MCFADDEN," he shouted. "Touch my stuff again and I'll tell Blake about that certain fact about you which we don't mention in public!"
Trius teleported into view, outraged. "Shut up," he hissed. "I didn't touch your stuff! What are you doing here, anyway? Blake wants us to look for that stupid human girl."
Morgan rolled his eyes. "Again? Dang, she's slippery. What's the big deal? She can't escape the building."
"Well, there's another problem. Remember that crazy boy who swept the floor with Nikki the other day? He's back, and he brought a friend. They're in the house somewhere."
Morgan swore with a lazy vehemence. "Great. Guess I have to help now." The two of them teleported away, leaving the air vibrating where they'd been.
I gave a small laugh, and rounded the corner. The arrows suddenly warmed up. They must be close. I walked faster down the hall, they had to be close, with each step the arrow to warmer and warmer. Thank the lord the I had found Melanie.
You rounded a corner and saw…..
(….me waving goodbye, unfortunately XDD Good night, I'll see you tomorrow! Hopefully Amber will return in due course so we can finally all get together again lol)
