( Well, I'm back, after a long long time.)

Charlie watched Chakuro fly off, still not sure of what to do. She had heard the lyric he had spoken, the words hitting hard at her heart. Their mother had always sung songs to her as she tried to get Charlie to use the darkest sides of her power.

They say your powers are a gift.
Blessed by the gods above,
sent down by Amore
along the wings of a dove.
But my sweet, small girl. . . don't you see?
Born under the wintermoon,
One of you will win, the other is doomed.
You'll be sent to a city that has long been lost. . .
And you'll learn, that even the most beautiful blessings
All have a cost.

Charlie shook her head, trying to forget. The scars on her back felt like they were burning, as raw as the first time she had received them. She had hurt their mother once with an illusion, all because she wanted to protect August from her. The scars were what she had received in return.

@Lenered

Chakuro flew back, the song ringing in his mind.
"Twins, twins,
with a special mark,
born and raised,
to die in the dark,
colors of their hair, blonde, brown, and pink,
which one will be king I think?"

He was the king. But not with blonde hair or brown or pink, rainbow hair. All the colors in the world. What did that mean? Chakuro landed next to Charlie, noticing her pensive stare. She's the only one who understands what's going on.

//ouch

( Yep, not fun. But that's why she has a tattoo on her back, to cover them up. )

Charlie looked over at Chakuro, her gaze softening a bit. Though, her green eyes were still as guarded and dangerous as they always were.

( @Opia, how did August become deaf, because I have an idea for it )

@Lenered

He caught her looking at him and he looked back a second after. Chakuro patted his wings, feeling the soft feathers. Her green eyes were like a wall. What were his like? He imagined they were like a black hole, drawing someone in further and further until they realized there was nothing inside of him.

"The song. . . the one that you were singing," Charlie began to say as she glanced at Chakuro. "Where did you hear it?"

@Lenered

"The children in my neighborhood used to sing it." Chakuro frowned, "Though it's a bit outdated." of course it was outdated, no one had sang that song for hundreds of years.

She nodded slowly, remembering their mother singing it to her. She had applauded Charlie for making a perfect illusion of a rose, the petals as dark red as blood.
"Beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful." Their mother murmured, rambling about her illusions. "Make some more, Charlotte." She had said no. That resulted in a day of being locked away in her bedroom.

"My mother sang songs like that to me. . ." Charlie said quietly, choosing her words carefully.

@Lenered

"Really? My parents abandoned us when they found out that they birthed twins. They didn't want anything to do with us." Chakuro said softly, curling his wings around himself. "Like they didn't mind having a demon child, but having twins was too much for them."

"I'm sorry about that. . . but I'd rather be abandoned then live with my mother. She was always trying to use my 'blessings' to her advantage." Charlie said, her tone quiet and soft, which was unlike her. She had never opened up to someone else. "Though, my mother was convinced that we were to be something 'great.' She always said that she had the power of sight." Sight into the future, the past, everything.

//^nyooms back^ lemme fight her

( Lmao xD )

@Lenered

(she didn't even realize he just spilled his biggest secret)

Chakuro gave a sigh of relief, happy that this girl was too busy with her own problems to figure out what he had said. "I'm sorry about your mother. It sounds awful. What is your power? I control people, like puppets." he held up his hands, miming pulling strings.

Charlie looked over at Chakuro, noting the sigh of relief. He had said something he shouldn't have. She decided not to say anything, instead raising a brow, impressed by his power.

"It's uh, illusions." She mumbled, not wanting to talk about it. She had always disliked her power because she didn't have much control over it.

@Lenered

"Illusions? Like making people see things that aren't real?" Chakuro gave a faint smile, "I would have loved that power when I was younger." he remembered when he was young, controlling the shop vendors so his brother could have a chance to steal some food.

"Yes, making them see and feel things that aren't actually there. . . it's quite useful, but-" Charlie trailed off, shrugging absentmindedly.

"It doesn't feel. . . right. I don't feel like I have control over it either," Charlie started, biting her bottom lip in thought. "If my emotions are out of control, I can end up causing more damage than I intended."
