Charlie followed after him, stepping into the ball room. A few nobles were crowded around a podium, where a priest and one of the older princes stood.
August stood behind Charlie slightly as he looked at the group, squinting as he tried to catch any words that he could.
Genie walked up to Charlie and August, "Hi!"
Charlie nodded to her in greeting, looking towards the podium as the ball room quieted.
"Citizens of Estenzia," The priest began, his hands clasping a leather bound book with golden inscriptions on the front. "Every generation, the gods send us a message. A message about the twins."
Pairs of siblings born under the wintermoon,
One will win, the others are doomed.
Blessed with powers of fire and ice,
Foretold to rule when the moment is right.
On their eighteenth birthdays,
Sent to the cities
that had long been lost,
They will realize that their blessings
have a cost." He finished reciting the message, resting his hand on the podium.
"The god's believe that these twins are to be rightful ruler of our kingdom. Erin Almonte was the victor of the games 50 years ago. His descendants still rule today. Finally, new twins have been born and tomorrow, they will be sent to the Lost Cities, and we will finally figure out who will be our next rulers."
Chakuro bit his lip, staring at the priest. As if that was what the royals planned to do.
"Now, please join us for a feast before tomorrow! We will celebrate the arrival of the twins!" The prince next to him exclaimed, motioning towards a large table. Charlie glanced over at August and Chakuro with a worried expression as nobles began to walk towards their seats.
Charlie played with the hem of the fabric on her arm as she walked towards the table, watching and studying every face she passed. Their was so much to learn. So much that could help her protect August.
Chakuro started for the door, heading to the forest to get there early.
( Is he heading towards the meeting point he was talking about earlier?)
(yas)
( Awesome sauce.)
Charlie glanced over at Chakuro as he neared the exit. She looked between the table and him, debating where to go. There was no point in staying at the table. . .everyone was scared of her. She walked towards a more secluded part of the ballroom and threw and illusion of invisibility over herself as she walked after Chakuro.
Chakuro waited next to the tree, sitting down and running over the plan in his head. As soon as all of them came, he was going to press the special button and bring them underground.
Genie snuck out of the ballroom. Wasn't that hard after she set fire to some of the noble women's dresses. She followed after Charlie and Chakuro.
Chakuro waited next to the tree, sitting down and running over the plan in his head. As soon as all of them came, he was going to press the special button and bring them underground.
Charlie let the illusion of invisibility slip off as she walked towards Chakuro. It was dark. The only light was from the moon, but all it did was cast long shadows. They reminded her of her first illusions. They were all misty and black, not a single drop of color in them.
Noa slipped through the crowd, sharing pleasantries before leaving the place completely. She stared up at the moon, the brightest and coldest thing as of right now. After a moment, she turned her attention to the path and hurried to the tree.
Genie finally reached Charlie and Chakuro.
//yeet I’m back guys
( Welcome back! :D )
//hi! :D
Chakuro noticed the new arrivals. "Hey! Ready to have your minds destroyed by my weak plan?"
//^frankenstein voice^ iTS ALIVE
“Sure,” she said, awkwardly standing there in full ballwear.
//also I had an idea
Cause like, her eyes are her mark, yeah?
So shifting them would be difficult, but not shifting them would give her away
Eventually, her eyes can’t take the stress of shifting anymore and she goes blind
thoughts
( Oh that would be interesting )
