@Relsey-TheElder
Vincent grinned, "Oh I do know when I should shut up that doesn't mean I'm going to." He replied.
Vincent grinned, "Oh I do know when I should shut up that doesn't mean I'm going to." He replied.
"You guys," Mari groaned. "All this arguing isn't going to change the fact that I'm going to be up all night doing the stupid English homework. You guys are lucky you're both so good at it."
"Being good at everything isn't always a good thing." Vincent muttered remembering his middle school day's. "Any way, that's why you have us, we don't mind helping you out do we?" Vincent looked over at Kelton questioningly
“Yeah, we don’t mind,” he replied and scooped some ice cream into his mouth. “Actually, it’s proffered. I actually like English homework, and it’ll give me something to do, not to mention it’s helping a friend.” He gave her a toothy smile.
(Will there be friend-zoning involved? And then Vince will be the representation of the ML fandom where he watches in pain)
(Omg like how Adrien goes, “she’s a good friend”?)
(Yes please)
(I'm alright with it)
Mari’s heart dropped at the word friend. She knew he was being his usual nice self, but her heart didn’t like how he said it. Forcing a smile onto her face, she told him, “Though I can’t understand how in the world you actually like English, your help would be amazing. Although,” she added slyly, “if you wanted to you could always just do my homework for me?”
"That goes against my personal code of conduct as the class genius." Vincent said apologetically
"Of course it does," Mari grumbled. "But could you make an exception just this one time? For me? For your best friend who you love very much? Please?"
Kelton raised his hands, as if to say he was taking himself out of the conversation. “Don’t look at me, you know I don’t cheat. I would like to help you though. We could do it now? Together? And get it out of the way?”
Mari liked the way he said "together", though she knew he didn't mean anything by it. She sighed. "I'd like that very much K, thank you."
TIMESKIP: THE NEXT DAY
There had been another attack, that one about half a mile away from the first. The attack was on a Saturday, so the heroes could spend longer together than usual. At the moment, they were on the roof of a building, discussing their thoughts on who was behind it.
“A friend of mine said it was probably the owner of the first building,” Imperium said whole surveying the crime scene from afar.
"That sounds about right," Nova agreed. "But I don't like how close together these attacks were. There seems to be more and more lately, and we haven't done anything about it. I was talking to a couple friends the other day and we were discussing us. I was in civilian form obviously, but we were talking about how we should patrol at night, to make sure nothing attacks while a lot of people have their guard down. We should also try to stop attacks before they happen, like that giant robot a few days ago? That totally could have been prevented if we had been paying attention."
Peri draped his arm around Nova. “Yep, we definitely should patrol. But don’t go blaming yourself again, because what happened wasn’t your fault. Maybe we could try it tonight? We could all sneak out of our houses at around midnight, and patrol together? Really quick, like a few minutes, and no one will ever know we’re gone.”
Snow nodded, "Sounds doable to me, just remember that you guy's may be super human but you're still human, sleep is important got it?"
Peri nodded. “Sure. We should patrol at like 1? That way everybody is for sure asleep but it’s not too early for us to wake back up.”
"Got it." Nova winked at Snow. "Sleep is important. But one sounds good. I'm normally up until then anyway. Now I'll have something to do tonight other than staring at a blank canvas for hours!"
"Great. You know," he began again, arm still around Nova's shoulders, "I wish we knew each other as civilians. We can't really hang out unless we're in superhero form, and that only happens when there's something more important to do."
Nova poked him in the arm before shrugging away. "You know we can't do that. No one can know our identities. It's what keeps our friends and family safe. If we know, the villains might found out and then they'll have more hold over us. It's better no one knows."
When she shrugged his arm off, he gave her a smile and inches closer to her face. “They already know who matters to me,” he said with a smirk.
Snow held his breath, Come on Nova, it's Kelton in there, you know you like Kelton. They're the same fricking person come on! (DO they already have the communication thing or should I have Snow give them to him)
Nova moved away, giving herself some room. "Oh come on Peri you can't think like that! You have a family and friends outside of being a superhero! You have to think about them too! So stop with this ridiculousness and focus on what actually matters! Please! Everyone else in the city is more important than me, and we have to protect them! It's our responsibility! So please stop with the teasing, I really don't appreciate it!"
(Oh and I think Snow should give it to them)
