(Omg you guys we could do what Miraculous is doing and add to the love square! Like give Mari another friend who comforts her and who likes her like Luka! Then we could do something where another superhero comes and she likes Peri. So that Nova and Kelton could feel jealous and not know why? Or is that dumb idk)

He smiled back at her, but then he blinked in bewilderment when she turned away. Did he say something wrong? He couldn't remember if he did, but he didn't think so. He turned in confusion to Vincent. "Do you know what's wrong?"
With her vision blurry Mari couldn't see exactly where she was going, so she ended up bumping into someone and almost falling over. "I'm so sorry!" She gasped, rushing to wipe her tears away.
"It's okay," the person said, catching her, and now she could see it was a guy her age with dark purple-blue streaks through his dirty blonde hair, and soft grey eyes that met hers with such an intensity that it left her speechless. "I'm Saiyan. You're Mariana right?"
"Mari," she choked out, easing herself off of him as a fresh wave of tears hit. She turned to go, but Saiyan caught her arm.
"Are you okay?" He asked, intensely soft eyes (if that makes any sense) meeting hers once again.
She opened her mouth to say yes, but instead the whole story came spilling out, and by the end she was shaking with sobs and Saiyan had pulled her into a hug.
(This would be a terrible time for Vince or Kelton to come looking for her ;) And by terrible I mean amazing! Only if you guys want to though I don't want to force you into doing anything)

Vince looked over at Kelton, "Dude she just asked you to the dance, you could you know run after her and apologize for not responding." Vincent's mind raced as this new suggestion showed him possibilities and warnings, "But don't take anything she's doing right now to seriously, shes in the hall right outside the library door, go get her by have fun!" He pushed Ketlon towards the stairs, If his calculations were correct Kelton should run into Mari and then get slightly jealous and hopefully that might do something, the mixed and confusing emotions of the pair made everything in his mind a jumble. He was getting mixed signs from every which direction, to many Thoughts, to many problems. He clutched his head and sat down on the roof his head swimming. The blue contacts popped out of his eye's revealing his eye's to be flashing between every color of the rainbow. Vincent curled into a ball clutching his ears, to much, to much. When Vincent concentrated on too many problems and situations at once his power ruled his mind, over riding his systems leaving him to wait out the storm of conflict.
“But I did respond! I said yes! What’s wrong with that?” He replied. Then he sighed. “Maybe she doesn’t really want to go with me. I’ll ask her,” he replied, and turned to run after her. He was surprised to see that she was not by herself, but she was talking to some other guy. He approached them and waited fr a break in their conversation so he could talk to her.
Mari tensed into the unexpected embrace, but quickly sunk into the comfort. She really really needed it right now. After a few minutes she was all cried out, and slowly she pulled away, swiping the last bit of wetness from her face. "Thanks Saiyan."
"Anytime." He grinned at her, and something about that made her brain go fuzzy, kind of like how it did when Kelton did something especially sweet. Why was this happening? "You can call me Sai by the way."
"Thanks Sai," Mari corrected, smiling back. "For being there for me."
"Of course," he replied, eyes flicking to her still red eyes. "And if you don't mind me saying so, I'd like to tell you that whoever made you feel like this doesn't deserve you anyway."
"You're really sweet to say that, but he didn't do it on purpose." Mari sighed. "When I asked him to the dance, he took it as me asking as friends. Because that's all he sees me as." She looked down.
"Well he's wrong." Saiyan lifted her chin so that she looked him in the eyes. "From what I've seen of you you are an extraordinary girl, who's very talented at so many things. Any guy who doesn't like you needs to have their brain fixed."
Mari giggled and blushed at his comment. Any implied meaning completely flew over her head. "Thanks Sai." She pulled him close again, giving him a tight squeeze.
"Anytime."
He walked up right after that exchange of words, with his eyes nervously on Mari’s face. Had she been crying? Because of him?
“Hey, are you okay?” He asked her. “Do you want to tell me what’s wrong? Because me and Vince were really worried about you.”
"I'm good now." Mari threw a grateful glance over to Saiyan. "Thanks for coming after me though. I appreciate it. You don't have to worry anymore I'm okay." She thought back to the hug and conversation with Sai, letting a smile grace her lips. "Sai made sure of that." She flashed him a grin. She definitely realized she had never answered his question of asking what was wrong, but she hoped that he didn't.
"Um, okay," he replied, further confused by her sudden change in mood. "Are you sure? Because you seemed really upset." He liked to see her smile, but he worried that it was just for show. He put his hand on her shoulder and ducked his head to look her in the eye better.
"You can tell me if there's something wrong."
(bumpity bump)
(Omg I'm so sorry I had a marching band competition last weekend and schools been hectic this week I haven't had time to respond)
"I'm okay," Mari reassured him, heart conflicted between wanting to lean into his touch and wanting to pull away. "Truly, I am. Sorry for worrying you." Once again she avoided telling him what had actually happened. And she wouldn't ever, unless his feelings changed, but that was unlikely. He saw her as a friend, nothing more. And now she accepted that.
(Np I’m pretty busy too with midterms sneaking up on me)
“Okay then,” he frowned, and hugged her anyway. “Don’t scare us like that, we were worried about you.” He kept his arm around her shoulder and looked at the boy that had been standing next to her. “Hi, I’m Kelton. I don’t think we know each other.”
Mari was hyper aware of his arm around her shoulder as she looked back and forth between Kelton and Saiyan. She stayed quiet, waiting for the other boy to respond.
"Saiyan." The dirty blond nodded his head respectfully towards Kelton. "You may not know me, but I certainly know you. You two are together a lot." He looked to Mari, and an expression she couldn't translate flashed across his face. "Anyways I'll leave you two now. I hope something in that conversation helped you Mari." With that he sent a small smile, squeezed her hand, and walked away.
“Is he a new kid?” He asked Mari as her new friend walked away. He wanted to keep talking to her, so even though he didn’t really care about how she knew Saiyan, he was asking about him. Her eyes were still slightly puffy, and it was really worrying him. Since when did she not want to tell him what was wrong? They always told each other everything; they were best friends.
The conflict subsided, Vincent brain went back to working as it should. Contacts back into his eye's he fixed his hair and went to go find his friends hoping they had made up by now, told each other their secret Identities and all conflicts had been resolved.
"No," Mari told him. "I've seen him around a lot, and I think he's in my science class but I never talked to him before this." Her cheeks warmed as she remembered the automatic way he pulled her into a hug and the way he somehow knew just what to say to make her feel better. "Anyways, you can stop worrying, I'm completely fine now."
She could tell he didn't believe her, that he was still concerned, and maybe even a little hurt that she wouldn't tell him what's going on. She wanted to tell him. She really, really did. But she couldn't. It would be the most awkward embarrassing conversation ever, and it would ruin her friendship with one of her best friends. And that was something she couldn't handle.
Vince rounded the corner, spotted his friends and sighed, as his power told him that non of what he had wanted to happen happened. "Hello you two, sorted everything out yet?" He asked masking his disappointment with a smile and happy tone of voice.
Kelton would just have to accept the fact that she didn't want to tell him. Maybe she didn't trust him anymore? Was that it? Either way, he tried his best not to let on that he sensed a problem. "Yeah, I guess so," he answered. He wanted to keep asking what was wrong, but he decided not to bug her any longer.
Vincent inwardly screamed, would they just communicate? "Alright then, let's head to class the bell's about to ring anyway."
