Kelton landed himself outside a door to the school that was only a few feet away from the detention room and snapped the charm, putting himself back into his normal clothes. He peered through the glass to make sure no one was coming, then opened the door and walked down the hallway to the detention room. Thankfully, the door was open and the teacher was sleeping. He waved at the few students that’s ere inside and slipped into his seat.
Vincent said goodbye to the child and his very grateful parents and hurried back to the school, he looked around and with a flash his clothes were back to normal and he strolled back inside as if nothing had happened. He saw Mari sprinting past him and grinned, she was so dead.
Kelton nudged the kid in front of him and held up a piece of paper. where’s Mari? The kid shrugged and whispered, “she never showed.”
Kelton nodded, and the kid turned back around. Why didn’t she show? That was a bit weird.
Mari flew down the last hallway and burst through the detention room door, panting as she tried to catch her breath. The teacher monitoring them awoke with a start, blinking sleepily and shouting, "Late, Miss Baye! That'll be another day of detention for you!"
Mari groaned, and walked over to the desk deemed "Her Seat", and slid in next to Kelton. "Hi," she whispered to him.
He waved in reply. “You know, if you had come in quietly, you would’ve made it.”
He handed her a piece of notebook paper with sketch on it. It was their teacher when he was sleeping.
"When do I ever do anything quietly?" Mari shot back, laughing at the drawing. She pulled out her own sketchbook, and started working on a half-finished sketch of a pack of wolves.
Kelton was not really the type of artist that Mari was; he drew really cartoony stuff, whereas her stuff was really breathtaking. He really loved watching her draw. He leaned over and put his head in his hand, watching as her hand moved over the page.
Mari felt his eyes on her, but she didn't look up until she had drawn a bit more, sending him a grin and a wink before returning to her work. He looked so cute with the peaceful look on his (maybe just a hint of admiration though she was probably imagining it) and watching her, that she almost couldn't go back to her drawing, wanting to watch his expression, see the subtle shifts that would help her understand him better than anyone else would.
He smiled back at her, but it faded when her focus went back to her work. Her smile; something about it seemed familiar. It was really strange, and he couldn’t put his finger on it, but he knew that smile from somewhere other than his friend who was sitting next to him.
Vincent burst into the detention room his arms full of papers and books, "Mam? I believe you asked for copies of these pages?" Vincent balanced the stack on one hand and held up a paper to the teacher, she shook her self more awake thanked him and motioned for him to place them on the desk, he did so and winked at Kelton and Mari on his way out the door. Some times he just wanted to force them to transform in front of each other. It was just so obvious, Imperium liked Nova, Mari likes Kelton, then again, he though as his power told him to hold his arm right as a blond freshmen tripped into it, not every one had a power telling them exactly how to react in situations. He didn't find out on purpose, there was a fire in science class and his power told him that Mari could put it out, then again when the friends were out flying kites with no wind, his power told him Mari could just conger up some wind. It took a bit longer to figure out Kelton but eventually there was a situation that could have been fixed using his powers.
Kelton lifted a hand as a greeting when Vincent entered, then went back to watching Mari. Apparently, Vince was in some sort of rush, so he didn’t do anything more than wink.
Now that Kelton thought about it, he knew who Mari’s smile reminded him of. Nova’s. He smiled at the thought of his fellow super heroine. She was perfect. And so was Mari, but in a different way.
(may I just say I love that her nickname is Mari too)
(I honestly didn’t do that on purpose, I just liked the name Mariana, but yay happy coincidence!)
Mari flinched when Vince burst into the room, making her pencil leave a dark streak across the page. She let out an unhappy noise, sending her friend a glare when he looked to her. He didn’t react, just set the papers he was carrying on the teachers desk and left. She frowned, and tried to erase the line. It didn’t work and she groaned, throwing down her pencil as she unhappily laid her head in her hands.
(Hello my lovelies do we still want to continue this or are you guys done?)
(I'm here for continuing but we'll need Peri too)
(Yeah of course. I'm glad you want to continue I really like this rp)
(Yeah I wanna continue too I just didn’t reply cause I felt like I was hogging the chat lol)
(If y’all want I can write a reply tho and we could maybe like skip to when school and detention is over)
TIMESKIP: THAT AFTERNOON
Kelton had invited his two best friends to his house that day, and at the moment they were all upstairs in his room discussing the attack that had happened earlier that day. It was quite interesting, all of them doing their best to act like they hadn’t experienced the whole thing up close and personal.
“Yeah, I heard that there was some kid like inside the robot,” Kelton lied. However, what he said next was the truth. “I wonder how that happened.”
Vincent helpp back the explanation, barley, "Um I'm not sure, There was this girl who was yanking my ear off while you two were in detention about how she heard from a friend who heard from a cousin who was near the attack that one of the hero's though it was mind control of some sort." He said shrugging "Not sure how accurate that is considering the source, that and I wasn't exactly listening." Being a seemingly perfect pretty boy was useful some times he could always use that excuse.
"Yeah I get it," Mari agreed. "Though when you rushed off K, by the way where did you go? You didn't go to detention because you left in the exact opposite direction! Anyway, I kinda maybe sort of slipped out the nearest door and watched as much as I could…"
Mari didn't like lying, though she had to do it a lot on account of her being a superhero. She thought that this was the best way to be able to tell a lot of the story, while also covering why she was late to detention.
(And Peri please don't ever think that you're hogging the chat I absolutely love when I log on and see that one of you guys have responded. Thank you for doing this with me, and thank you for loving it like I do. You guys are awesome)
