Finn thought for a moment, trying to come up with something. "Ah… the baseball surprises some people. They expect me to be more into football. I like football too, but you know… what else, uh… I like to draw. I don't usually talk about it because Teagan would probably make fun of me…"
Beatrice nodded as he spoke.
"I don't think he would," she told him. "Are you good at drawing?"
Finn shrugged. "I dunno. It's hard for me to gauge my own abilities. I like to think I'm alright, but I mostly do it for fun anyway…"
"So draw me something, something fun." Beatrice asked excitedly. "Only if you want to though, I can't force you to do anything."
"Oh, um… do you have any specific ideas? Or anything to draw on? I don't have my sketchbook with me…"
Beatrice got up and found a yellow legal notepad, the kind that opened upward and a black pen and handed them to him as she sat back down next to him.
"Just draw whatever you feel like drawing," she told him softly. "I don't have any specific requests."
"Um… alright." Finn just sat and stared at the paper for a bit, hovering the pen over the notepad as he tried to come up with something to draw. After a minute or so, he hesitated and then started trying to sketch something as well as he could with the pen. He was definitely more used to using pencils. It looked like he was drawing a wolf or a dog of some sort, and it looked pretty good despite him being unfamiliar with his drawing utensil.
Beatrice watched patiently as Finn drew.
"I think that's good," she told him, patting him gently on the shoulder. "I'm assuming you taught yourself. huh?"
Finn flushed lightly and shrugged. "Um… yeah… just something I got into when I was a kid because it was a way to get me to sit still for longer than two minutes. I stuck with it because… well, it still works." He laughed softly.
"I mean, that's how most of my hobbies are too." Beatrice told him kindly. "Flower pressing kind of stems from that."
Finn nodded, looking down at the doodle he'd made with a soft sigh. "Yeah… I don't really know what I'm doing to be honest. It's stupid…" He tore the paper off of the notepad and started crumpling it.
Beatrice snatched the paper out of his hand and uncrumbled it and studied it.
"Finn, if I hear you say that one more time I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to hit you," she told him sternly and then broke into a smile. "I mean seriously, this is good."
Finn looked away, fidgeting with his hands. "I'm… glad you think so. I-I don't want it, so you can have it if you really want." He ran his fingers through his hair and closed his eyes.
Beatrice folded the piece of yellow paper into squares and stuck it into the pocket of her light grey sweatpants.
"Thanks, I'll take anything you draw if you don't want it." She told him honestly.
"Sounds good… do you have any more questions you wanna ask?" Finn asked, looking back over at Beatrice.
"We could play two truths and a lie instead," Beatrice suggested. "I don't really care, i'm having fun just talking."
"Sure, if that's what you want to do." Finn shrugged, indifferent to what activities they did. "We'll want to sleep soon, probably."
Beatrice picked up a throw pillow and whacked him lightly with it.
"I mean, sure." She said and smiled "you go first."
"Hey!" Finn caught the pillow and smiled as well. "Alright, just a second… um…" He thought for a moment, trying to come up with something. "I… hate chocolate, I had to go to the ER for eating a piece of a chair, and I broke my arm falling out of a window once."
Beatrice smiled and said "the lie is that you hate chocolate." She said questioningly. Though she definitely recalled watching Finn devour chocolate on multiple occasions.
"Nope! I don't like chocolate. It makes me feel really sick." Finn laughed. "It's the second one. I did eat a piece of a chair as a kid, but my parents didn't ever take me to the ER for it. I ended up being okay, obviously."
"Then it must be Teagan I'm thinking of…" Beatrice trailed off and then scrunched her brows far down on her face. "Huh. It must've been Teagan."
"okay, so here's mine: I've never kissed anyone, I hate the dark and I love peaches. " She told him and kept her expression neutral as she said each one.
"Yeah, it makes him sick too but he still eats it." Finn shrugged. He listened closely to Beatrice's two truths and lie to try and figure out which one was the lie. "Hmm… the first one? I think you've kissed somebody before."
Beatrice smiled softly and shook her head.
"No, the lie was I'm scared of the dark." She admitted and blushed quietly.
"Oh, really? I don't mind the dark too much since I can see." He gestured to his eyes, referencing his enhanced werewolf senses. "Hm… I jumped off our roof a couple times, I… killed a deer on accident, aaaand… I swallowed fifteen Legos in one go when I was a kid."
