He stared at her. "I, uhm…" He said slowly. What do I say?? He thought frantically. The truth? Or…
"Do you like me?" She looked up at him, very curious as to what he would say.
He hesitated, then nodded. "Yeah. I do." He said softly, looking down at her.
(….I just realized I never described Jair's eye color XD)
(Oh? What's his eye color?)
She smiled. "I knew it." She was extremely happy, to say the least.
(…I don't actually know XD)
He raised an eyebrow. "Oh? You did?' he asked, looking down at her.
(W h e e z e. Well was this more of a medieval world or a fantasty/ d&d world?)
"Well. Not really. But I liked to imagine that you did, what with you always protecting me…"
(lol kinda both? Idk XD)
"Protecting you is my job." He repkied dryly, smiling slightly.
(well then it can be any color if it's a d&d world XD)
"I liked to imagine that you did it because you cared about me…" she trailed off, yawning again
(lol)
"Well. That too." He said softly, still rubbing her back.
She let out a sigh of content. She was happy like this, being near Jair, having a nice conversation with him late at night. Then she realized it. Oh- "Am- am I sleeping in here tonight?" She felt it was weird to ask, but she was just so comfortable and she didn't want to move.
He hesitated, then shrugged. "If you want to." He said softly.
"I do," she whispered. "It's comfortable like this"
He smiled gently. "Alright. You can stay." He said.
"Thank you," she smiled and started to fall asleep
He sighed softly. "You're welcome." He lay back down, arms still loosely around her.
(We should totally skip to the morning, and have like…a servant or someone find them tangled up together, Jair shirtless, and assumed the worst XD)
(I had to rewrite this 7 seven times because my wifi kept cutting out :') )
A maid walked into Kana's room with a tray. She realized that Kana was not in her bed. She searched around the room, even checking the hidden passages. Deciding it was best to tell her guard, she rushed into Jair's room, not even bothering to knock. Upon seeing the two tangled together, she dropped her tray in shock and quickly ran out of the room.
Kana woke up by the loud noise. "What-" she mumbled, still sleepy
(lol oof)
Jair sat up quickly, one hand resting on Kana's back still. "Huh?" His eyes landed on the tray on the floor and the open door. He sighed softly, mumbling a curse under his breath. "Kana? I think someone came in and saw us." He said softly, looking down at her.
Kana glanced up at him and then to where the tray fell. She sighed, annoyed by the fact that it even happened. Stupid maid. "Well, that's just great.
He nodded. "Be prepared for your reputation to plummet." He said softly. "They'll assume the worst. Probably they'll say…a lot of terrible things about both of us, but especially me. For being…your guard, and a commoner, and mixed race."
Kana looked down at her hands, realizing what she's done. Oh god. "Jair, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean for this to happen."
"It's alright." He replied softly, sitting up and pulling back his arms from around her, raking one hand through his hair.
Kana shivered when he pulled away. He was like a warm extra blanket that was suddenly taken away from her. "It's really not…" she trailed off and sat up, her legs hanging from the side of the bed
Jair looked at her. "What do you want me to say, then, Kana?" He asked, looking at her.
Kana shrugged, her cheeks turning slightly pink. Is he mad at me? She avoided eye contact with him and stood up, making her way to the tray. He's probably mad. I just ruined both of our reputations. She sighed and started cleaning it up, an unusual hobby (yes, a hobby) for a queen.
Jair sighed softly, pulling on a shirt. "Kana…" He trailed off. What…I don't know what…if we both like each other, than what are we? What even can we be?
