Jair nodded, and followed her.

(F it, i'm doing a timeskip)

Kana was sleeping not-so-peacefully. She kept on twisting and turning, having yet another nightmare about her family.

Jair was asleep, laying on his side. The blankets were twisted up, and his upper body was exposed to the air. His hair was messy.

Kana woke up, literally shaking with fear. 'Oh god oh god oh god' she chanted in her head. Her hair was a bit messed up, but it actually suited her better than having it up all the time. She felt like her body was on fire from the heat, and she was a bit sweaty. She looked around her room with disheveled and teary eyes, unsure if the shadows in her room were people or just objects. Not sure what to do, she instinctively ran out of her room and into Jair's.
"Jair?" she spoke with a meek, tiny voice.

Jair sat up quickly, blinking sleepily. "Hm? What? Is something wrong?" He looked over at her, blindly reaching for his sword.

"I had a nightmare," she sounded like she was crying. "Can I stay here?" Her voice was weak and timid, like a child's.

He set the sword aside. "Yeah…come here." He scooted over on the bed in case she wanted to lay down.

Kana shuffled over to his bed, trying not to knock anything over. It's a good thing he scooted over, because she did indeed want to lay down. She was closer to him than what would be considered appropriate, but to be fair the whole situation was a tad inappropriate. She tried to stifle her sobs.

Jair reached over and rubbed her back and shoulders gently. "Hey, hey it's going to be okay." He whispered gently. "It's alright."

Kana shook her head quietly, not believing him. She got a bit closer to him, not actually aware of her movements. "I didn't mean for anyone to get hurt," Kana was still shaken by her dream, she thought it was real. Her hands were shaking when she reached out to Jair to gently stroke his face. Is he even alive?

Jair looked at her, biting his lip slightly. If anyone found out about this… He sighed softly, rubbing her back gently. "It's okay, Kana. No one is hurt." He said gently. "I promise. Everything is fine."

"Are you sure?" She placed her hands on his chest to make sure he was breathing and his heart was beating. He is alive. Good.

He nodded, taking a quick breath at the feeling of her hand on his bare skin. "I'm sure, Kana." He said gently, still rubbing her back.

"Jair?" she looked up at him, trying to see his face. Still shaking and sniffling, she hesitantly asked him, "can I hug you?"

He closed his eyes for a moment, and nodded. Keep a handle on it, Jair. He reminded himself. I'm only a man, but I have to keep a lid on it. "Yes, you can." He said.

Kana gently embraced him, quietly sighing with relief and comfort when she did. "Thank you," she whispered.

He hugged her back gently. "You're welcome." He said softly. He took a deep breath. God damn it. He really needed to keep a handle on his emotions. He couldn't have feelings for his queen!

Kana started to relax, her body temperature lowering and her sniffling subsiding. She was soon back to her sleepy self, completely tired and drowsy. "I'm sorry for bothering you so late at night," she said, realizing how tired she was. He must be exhausted.

Jair shook his head, still rubbing her back. He had sort of forgotten he was doing it. "It's alright." He said. "I don't mind."

She took a deep breath. "You smell good," she smiled and buried her head into his chest.

(…Jair is shirtless, btw lol)
He closed his eyes, taking another deep breath. "Uhm…thanks?"

(I know, which is why I'm doing that (hehe))

"Oh, and another thing…" she trailed off and yawned. She was starting to get drowsy and tired, as she forgot to finish her sentence

He raised his eyebrow. "What?" He asked, looking down at her.

"Hm? Oh," she paused, unsure if she should actually say what she wanted to say. Oh well. "I really like you."
