"Awesome. They are going to love you." His family always loved meeting new people. Damian's eyes lit at the thought of seeing his family again. When the song ended he did one last spin and the kissed her forehead. "Thanks." He smiled softly. He was glad he married someone so willing to go on adventures and is so understanding.
The people applauded once the song ended, and another started a few moments later. The king made his way through the parting crowd and toward Savannah and Damian. He bowed slightly and held his hand out to his daughter. "May I?"
Damian handed Savannah off to her father. Stepping to the side, Damian walked over to Queen Lillian and held out a hand. "May I have this dance?" Then he bowed, it would be rude not to.
(Doop de doop, just gonna stand in a corner)
(Boop be boop, I'll join you XD)
(Wonderful, let us stand in a corner together!)
Caspian took Savannah's hand and led her away as more people started to join the floor and dance together. "So, are you enjoying your time?" He asked Savannah.
Lillian smiled at Damian and curtsied, taking his hand. "You may."
"Thank you." He leads her out to the dance floor and swayed to the music, making sure not to stand too close. He didn't want the wrath of the King. "So how are you feeling about all this? Sorry, I should have come earlier so that you weren't handing your daughter to some stranger."
Lillian sighed, stepping in time with Damian. "Believe it or not, and don't tell Savannah I said this, but I honestly didn't want her getting married today." She glanced at her daughter and husband. "I understand the tradition and the urgency of uniting two kingdoms, but she is sixteen. I wasn't much older than her when I had to marry the king and it was the most stressful thing in my life, and…I didn't want that for her. She already has enough to deal with as the only heir to our throne. But it had to be done, so…" She shrugged - a bit unlike a queen, bit oh well. "I'm dealing with it, for lack of a better phrase."
“Yes, father. I think Damian is charming. He should make a good king.” She smiled a bit. I mustn’t let him know that I actually like Damian yet… he’ll just say ‘I told you so’ and get terribly annoying. “What do you think? I know you were the one who ‘picked him out’ for lack of better words, but you haven’t really formally met.”
"I understand. Unlike me she is still young and had her whole life ahead of her still." Damian knew he would get married soon. It was a surprise that he lasted till twenty. "You raised her well though. She'll make a great Queen." Damian was a good few feet taller then the Queen and had to look down to meet her eyes and talked to her, which felt wrong. "I'm sorry you had to give your little girl away so early."
(@SwimwithGamers do you wanna have our characters interact? Cause… yeah.)
(I'm down for that. Marcus is on gate duty, perhaps at the reception hall to make sure no one who isn't supposed to be there gets in?)
(Yee that works lemme just - )
Feeling uncomfortable with the amount of people in the room, Georgiana left to get some fresh air.
"Yes, well, that was mostly your mother." Caspian chuckled, then spun Savannah. "Don't tell him I said this…actually, do, if you want, but Damian wasn't who I was going to pick first. He is older than you, but still young, and quite resourceful. There was another just like him, only closer to your age. I thought he'd be a better choice, but your mother did not; she said that you wouldn't like him, and though neither of us were very keen on having you marry an adult, Damian did seem much more…tolerable." He had a look on his face, as if the subject brought a bad taste to his mouth. "I'm sure if I took the time to get to know him better, I'd see whatever your mother saw in him, but he is now married to my little girl."
Lillian hummed to herself for a moment. "As I said, it had to be done. I know she'll be okay; I've taught her to do the very best that she can, and she will until she can do no more." The queen locked eyes with the prince, giving him a half playful-half serious look. "You had better take care of my daughter, Damian."
Marcus glanced discreetly over when he saw someone leaving the reception. It seems Georgiana isn't in the mood for large crowds. He smiled to himself.
"Did you enjoy the party?" He asked, trying to catch her off guard.
“Damian’s brother… Damian told me he was wondering why his parents didn’t send his brother instead, since he was closer to my age. I suppose that explains it, doesn’t it? Although, I do respect your choice, of course.” Savannah looked out over the ground, folding her hands together neatly. “It looks like mother is talking to him.”
Georgiana jumped at the sudden noise, relaxing a bit when she realized who it was. "I suppose," she said, rubbing her arms.
Marcus turned in her direction.
"Well, I know I get off soon; perhaps we could enjoy ourselves as we did at the ball?"
Georgiana smiled. "I could use someone to talk to."
Marcus leaned towards her slightly.
"You're not the only one." He winked.
Georgiana blushed slightly. "Wonderful."
(I might have to go soon so sorry in advance)
Getting down on one knee, he kissed the back of the Queen's hand to show respect. "With all my power I make sure she is happy and safe." As the song ended, Damian leads the Queen back to her seat. It was a nice conversation, and he hoped they could do that again. He would like more insight on why they picked him and not his younger brother. But for now, that could wait. He waited to the side for Savannah to come back over.
“Oh, I think they’re finished… farewell, father.” Savannah curtsied politely and stepped down off the podium, heading over to where Damian was. “So, how did it go? What did you two talk about?” Savannah grinned, standing in front of him. She was a little bit taller than her mother, but not but too much. Damian was still considerably taller than she was.
