“I’ll try my best…” Savannah hugged Seirra. “I know it’s going to be hard to rule the kingdom, but I think Damian knows what he’s doing. I-I’m only sixteen m after all, and I’m to be married and ruling within a week or so. I was pretty upset with my parents at first, but I know I need to do what’s best for the kingdom.”
"I know. And please don't tell him about my feelings. He cares a lot for people so he'll just feel bad and try to fix it somehow." She chuckled a bit and looked back over the city. "Look, here they come." Seirra point to the sky. Something flew up and exploded with a loud sound and colors spread throughout the sky. "Best seat in the house, am I right?" Seirra bumped Savannah a bit and smiled. "I'll be fine. But would I be allowed to come see you guys once in a while? Ir is that against the royal rules?"
“Of course! I can tell the guards to let you in. They can be pretty… intense, I suppose, for lack of a better word. They worry about assassins and all that, but I’ll make sure they let you in.” Savannah smiled. “And everyone’s invited to the wedding, of course. God, that sounds so strange to say… ‘wedding’.” She sighed quietly.
"I've always wanted to see a royal wedding!" Seirra clapped her hands together, excited for a new queen and king. She wondered if Damian and Savannah would be ready, since they are both still so young. "Sorry to drag you all the way up here. You must need to get back, since it's late."
“Yes, probably. My parents might start to worry.” Savannah carefully climbed down off the roof and made her way back to the place they were before with Seirra. “Damian, we really must be getting back. The guards will be angry if we stay out much longer.”
Marcus watched the princess return. Yes, the others would be angry.
"Best if we head back as well," Georgiana suggested quietly.
Seirra decided to stay behind, but she gave Savannah a wave. Once she was out of sight Seirra broke down. "Yes, we should. I don't want to feel your father's rage. Plus it's almost time for the announcement." He quickly went back to the store and put his tux back on and fixed his hair. As Savannah changed he called a carriage to take them back to the castle. "By the way, where did you go?"
“Oh, your friend Seirra just wanted to chat… she’s very friendly.” Savannah stepped into the carriage with Damian and a guard. It seemed that they’d been surveilled as long as they’d been out, but she wasn’t too worried about it. “Did you have fun with your town friends?”
"Yes, I'm glad I got to see them. After all i wont be able to see them often." It was a bumpy carriage ride, but it wasn't too long. It was pretty much silent the whole ride there. Many carriages were still outside. Damian got out first and held out a hand for Savannah to take. He was nervous for the announcement, but kept his calm. "Are you ready?"
Savannah nodded. “They’ll be surprised to see us not wearing our dress clothes.” She laughed, taking Damian’s hand and walking inside. As expected, everyone stared at them as they made their way up to the thrones to stand before the king and queen.
Savannah nodded. “They’ll be surprised to see us not wearing our dress clothes.”
(but Damian changed back into his formal clothes?)
The king narrowed his eyes at the young duo that approached the pedestal. As he and the queen stood, he tried not to glare at the people he could hear whispering as the prince and princess passed. "Where have they been?", "Isn't it dangerous for them to be away from the castle?", "Why do they look so…unclean all of a sudden?"
(Yes he did, haha)
Damian bent down one one knee and kissed the back of the queen's hand. "Queen Lillian, it is a pleasure to finally meet you." He then turned to the king and bowed. He wasn't sure if he should speak, so he didn't. Turning back towards the crowd he put a smile on his face. Damian was now in full Prince mode. "How are you feeling?" He asked Savannah in a whisper.
(Shoot I didn’t see that sorry lol)
“Nervous…” She whispered back, waving and keeping on her ‘public smile’. She wasn’t really supposed to cry or even frown in public, so she learned not to. The crowd bowed or curtsied respectively, clapping for Damian and Savannah.
"I can't wait to sleep." He said with a laugh. This party and the other one, it was tiring. Plus he had to go home and pack his stuff. It was going to be sad to leave that small little forest home, but he had too. "Is your father going to say a few words? How long are we supposed to stand here and wave?" This was all new to him, and he wasn't sure why he wasn't asking Savannah since she never had been through this either.
“Probably… I cant wait to sleep either. It’s been a long day.” Savannah kept up her smiling and waving, waiting for her father to speak. I wonder when the wedding’s going to happen? I need to get my dress and everything else in order before the day arrives…
(So is Savannah in her formal clothes too or did only Damian change)
(Yes she’s in formal clothes)
Damian slightly looked back at the King. He looked bored, or maybe upset? Was it him, he wasn't sure if the King liked him in the first place. "Your Father scares me." Damian waved to a group of girls and they squealed. He then looked away and laughed awkwardly.
King Caspian sighed to himself. He was certain the young royals had gone into the festival while they were out, and he wanted to know what exactly they had done there, but that subject could wait.
He cleared his throat and turned to the crowd with a raised hand, getting everyone to quiet down.
"Noble men and women of the country, I am sure you know why you are here tonight. My daughter, Princess Savannah of the Western Region and Prince Damian of the Northern Region (idk their kingdom names ;-;) are to be joined in just a few days, to unite our kingdoms in marriage." He paused to allow applause, which there was plenty of for a few moments, then he continued. "We are grateful that you could all attend this ball and show your support for our young royals as they take on a new challenge in leading us. My wife, Queen Lillian, and I have prepared our daughter for this day since she was little, and we are as proud as we are thrilled for her and the prince to take up their place on the throne. Damian's parents could not join us this night, unfortunately, but they would be proud to see their son on the pedestal." He smiled at his wife and daughter once he was done, then reached his hand out to the prince as the ballroom echoed with cheers and applause.
Damian took the Kings hand and shook it. And for a moment he was excited for this new chapter of his, or rather their lives. Although they didn't love each other he hope they would be good friends and rule the kingdom well. When everything was over people came up to mingle and ask questions. "Princess!" A young girl yelled and tried to push through the crowd. She had dark brown hair and light brown eyes. Her dress was yellow and puffy. "Will I become a strong and beautiful queen like you one day." She seemed like a fan.
“Oh!” Savannah stepped down off the pedestal and took the girl’s hand. “I’m sure you will, honey.” She smiled at her. “What’s your name?” She’s sweet… I hope things go well for her. Wait, didn’t she call me beautiful? “And where are your parents?” Oh, there they are. She spotted a couple trying to get through the crowd to the girl.
"I'm Princess Annabel, from Lirenth Kingdom." She curtsied. "I'm so sorry Princess." Her parents bowed. "Darling we are in a different kingdom, you can't be so rude." Damian bent down and took the girls hand. "When you become Queen, make sure to invite us, okay?" A huge smiled appeared on her face as she took her parents hands. "That was cute. A little fan of yours." He elbowed Savannah gently in the arm and laughed.
“Bye bye Annabel! She’s adorable…” Savannah smiled and said to Damian once the girl had left. “I do hope she becomes queen someday. Unfortunately, if she has any brothers she might not get the chance, but you never know. Oh, right! Ceremony!” She quickly moved back to her place on the podium with Damian.
Marcus took Georgiana's hand.
"Dear lord, the Royals have already left," he whispered in her ear.
"We have to go!"
