"Alright." Cas stood suddenly and threw a fist in the air. "The music if finally getting to me, let's go dance!" Cas grabbed Milky and they both laughed as they headed to the fountain. The light around the water made it sparkle and the people laughing was a nice sound. "What do you say?" Damian put a hand towards Savannah. He liked how everyone was just jumping and spinning all over, slow dancing was never his thing, even if he was good at it.
(Riverpaw and Sky were gonna go home but Eleena would probably try to get them to join in the party so may my girls come over)
Eleena stopped, making Riverpaw and Sky stop as well, and smiled as she watched the people drinking and dancing around the fountain. "Whoa. Isn't that the princess?" She asked, zeroing in on the auburn-haired girl. "So this is where she and the prince ran off to?" She giggled and started to head over, but Sky stopped her. "Whoa, hey, h-hang on a second!" She pulled her sister's hand from Eleena's. "Are you crazy? We can't go over there - she and I have to get home." Riverpaw watched the people for a moment, then spoke up softly. "Um…that i-is really close to humans, Eleena…" Said girl clicked her tongue. "It'll just be for a few minutes. I'll stay with you both the whole time, and make sure no-one gets too close. Come on, you survived being in that ballroom, where, might I add, there were a lot more people."
Riverpaw looked at Sky; she wasn't going anywhere that close to so many humans again unless her sister was going too.
"Oh my Stars…fine. But we aren't staying long."
"Great! I'll buy you something as a thanks and as an apology for dragging you."
Savannah grinned and took Damian's hand, beginning to dance with him. She didn't get much practice dancing other than slow dancing, but she was still very graceful and picked it up quickly. She and Damian were dancing something she hadn't seen before when Damian suddenly dipped her.
(GASP OH MY STARS IS MY THING HOW DARE)
Georgiana watched from her seat, smiling. It was kind of fun to be around people her age without having to act like she was older, even is she wasn't brave enough to join them.
(.o.)
Riverpaw hid behind Eleena as they approached the common area near the fountain. Her eyes caught the princess, as well as the lady and the man who had come looking for her that day by the tavern, she didn't get to think much on it as Eleena yanked her and Sky towards a shop that had a sign with a picture of a necklace above the door. "We don't need any jewelery, Ell. Not from here, at least." Sky muttered, seemingly trying pull against the stronger girl's grip. But Eleena persisted, her hand in the air and pointing to the small building. "Nonsense! I told you I would get you something, and I refuse to let you go longer into the night without something nice around your neck or on your wrist. So, jewelery for the ladies!" Riverpaw was thankful that they weren't drawing much attention, the party-goers around them making much more noise than her excited friend.
Once he was done dipping her, the music became even more upbeat. But this song had a special meaning to the town. Everyone started taking off their shoes and throwing them to the side, and Damian did as well. When he looked up he saw the confusion on Savannah's face. "Ah, it's a tradition they have. They believe shoes are sorta like shackles, they take them off to symbolize freedom." He smiled as he bent down to untie her shoes. "You probably already know the story, but years back when your great grandfather was king he freed some slaves that were kept in algraba."
“Oh! Alright.” Savannah helped Damian take off her shoes and walked carefully with him. The street was made of cobblestone, and she didn’t want to cut herself. “What sort of dance do we do to this music?” She asked, gently taking his hand again.
Eleena had bought Sky a simple silver bracelet lined with sapphire gems. Sky was quietly complaining the entire time, but she did secretly like that it went well with her eyes. Riverpaw got a matching bracelet with jade gems, and both girls thanked her for the gifts as they left the shop. Eleena seemed to get even more excited when she heard what music had started playing, and she grabbed the sisters' hands and headed toward the plaza. Sky stopped her before they could get too close, gesturing to the formal dresses they all still had on. "Right, right. Uh, let's go over to Molly's - she'll have something more fitting for us."
Damian put the palm of his hand against hers. The he started move his feet forward backwards and side to side in a fast motion. "It's quite complicated. It took me a few years to get it right." He then slowed down so she could follow along.
Savannah watched Damian’s movements carefully before trying to mimic them. She almost fell a few times at first, but she soon got the hang of it. It still wasn’t perfect, of course, but she learned quickly and had a natural knack for dancing.
Riverpaw watched the people in the plaza from the window. She had changed into a plain green shirt with a frilled bottom, black leggings, and a black skirt, while her sister was dressing behind her. She turned to see Sky in a white silk shirt with light blue flowers all over it, and a long blue skirt. Riverpaw smiled, but it was quickly replaced with a look of worry. "I-is…this really a good idea, Sky? To be so close to so many humans out in the open? I mean, we-we're not in any danger, right? There wouldn't be any hunters out there?" Sky shrugged, but narrowed her eyes at the people outside. "It was your idea to come here, and Eleena is your determined friend-slash-crush." Riverpaw scoffed under her breath and crossed her arms. "She's not my…I-I don't…be quiet." Sky chuckled and pulled Riverpaw into a tight hug. The bedroom door opened, and Eleena was there, in a purple off-the-shoulder top and black pants. She motioned towards the hallway, so the girls followed her downstairs. Molly, who was managing her mother's tailor shop at the moment, kissed Eleena goodbye for the second time that night, and the trio headed back into the town. "We'll be okay, just stay close to Eleena and don't stray into the crowd." Sky said to her sister.
Marcus had also slipped his shoes off. He smiled.
"It seems to me that they're enjoying this," he whispered to Georgiana.
"Indeed they are," Georgiana agreed. "It's been a while since she had friends who would treat her like a normal human being, rather than a princess."
"Surely you were one of them." Marcus winked, setting his beer beside him.
Damian made sure to catch her anytime she was about to fall. "You're doing good." He made sure to reassure her. All the sudden a familiar face appeared behind them. The red bouncy curly hair cam dancing over to them. "Mind if I steal your girl for a bit?" Seirra asked.
“Oh! I suppose I can go with you. What do you need?” Savannah smiled at Damian and waved a bit before walking a short ways away with Sierra. She seems friendly… wonder what she could need me for?
"Most of my friends have a partner. So I figured Damian can suffer for a bit" She smiled but it was a bit sad. "I'm glad he's found someone. You know, I've actually known him for a few years now." Seirra actually liked Damian, very much, but since tonight she decided to properly give up. Seirra wasn't the type of girl to interfere with a relationship. "Anyway, let's dance!" She took Savannah's hands and started to spin.
“Alright.” Savannah smiled softly and danced with Seirra. She could tell that the girl liked Damian and she hated to get in the way of that, but she had no choice. She had to do her duty for the country. Perhaps she would feel better if I told her… “Hey, can you keep a secret?” She asked quietly.
"Of course! I know most of Damian's secrets." She stop spinning so she could hear Savannah better. "Actually, follow me." Without hearing Savannah's response, she decided to drag her away. "Its my secret place, so you can't tell anyone. Down an alleyway was a worn down ladder. It lead up to a roof that over saw the whole town. In the distance you could hear the music and the lights look beautiful. "Come sit." Seirra sat at the edge of the building and hung her feet over.
Georgiana shrugged. "I suppose."
Savannah nodded and followed Seirra. Nice place… She thought to herself, looking around before sitting down beside her new friend. “So, this is probably going to sound crazy, so please don’t freak out.” She thought for a moment, laughing softly to herself. “I honestly have no idea how to say this well, but, um… I’m actually the princess?” She offered weakly. “And Damian is the prince of a neighboring kingdom, and tonight is actually the first time we’ve met, and… well, I presume you know what the ball up at the castle’s for..”
"What!" Seirra stood so fast she almost fell off the roof, but caught herself. Sitting down again she leand back and laid down. "Thank goodness." Her arm cover her face as tears gathered in her eyes. Seirra had a mixture of a lot of emotions. Happy because he didn't actually love the princess, which sounded rude, but she couldn't help it. On the other hand she was sad because she still couldn't have Damian someone shes loved for a long time. "I know this is arranged, but please take good care of him," she sat up and a few tears slipped down her cheeks, "please take good care of him, for me." She wiped away the tears and forced a smile on her face.
