Yeah )
Cruz spun on the rotating stool behind the cashier.
August rested his arms on the counter, exchanging with Cruz, "You told her about the incidents?"
Cruz stopped spinning, "Yeah," he confirmed, "She took it well, I think," he replied, picking at a sticker on the counter. "She's been through some [stuff] too," he expressed. August didn't mind it when Cruz cursed.
"Well, that's good. Not– not for her. But in the sense that you guys have someone to trust now,"
"Yeah," Cruz nodded. "I brought my guitar today." He winked at August.
"Oh dear." He laughed.
“I, um, told him about… you know.”, Fae said quietly to Macha. There was silence on the other side of the phone for a minute, before Macha cleated her throat. “Good for you, Fae. He seems like a really good guy:” Fae smiled. “Yeah.” After another moment of silence, Macha said. “You’re daydreaming about him, aren’t you?” with a cheeky connotation. “Macha!”
“Alright, Alright!”
The two friends laughed warmly.
"I can't wait for her to come over. I worked all night the other night on a song for her."
"I simply can't believe that," August refuted, "You don't seem poetic at all," he smirked.
Cruz slugged Augustus' arm.
Fae was in the kitchen eating breakfast as her mom paced around her anxiously, giving her boy advice. Fae smiled. “Thanks mum.” She gave her disracted mother a kiss on the cheek as her dad grumbled. “When did you become old enough to get a boyfriend..”
Ten minutes later, Fae was out the door.
Augustus sent Cruz to the back to clean up the mess of clay while Cruz had the time.
Fae stepped into the cute little clay shop, calling out: “Good morning!” cheerfully, feeling butterflies on her stomach as she caught a glimpse of Cruz in the back room.
Augustus looked up, faintly freckled cheeks lifting in a grin. "Fae!" He greeted cordially, setting down the book he was reading right now— 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
Cruz was bent over the floor, earbuds shoved in his ears while he tried to viciously scrape off the dried clay on the tile floor.
“Hi Mr. Ponticelli! How’s your morning been?”
"Excellent," he replied warmly, "And you?"
“Pretty nice.” Fae smiled. “I brought some Eclairs from the bakery, should I leave them in the back?”
"Oh, yes, definitely," he laughed, "And Cruz has been anticipating you for a while," he winked a green eye.
Fae’s cheeks went pink. “I-I’ll go do that now.”, she stuttered.
(@Topaz, yes, I think Sabine would appreciate if Macha did something with her.)
Macha dialed Sabine’s number.
Augustus gave another smile before opening his book to get lost in.
Cruz groaned quietly, closing his eyes and lying on his back too alieve the ache from hunching.
Sabine's brothers had gone back home to rest, so now Sabine was staring at the ceiling, bored out of her mind. Then her phone started ringing. She picked it up. It was Macha. She picked up. "Hey Macha! What's up?"
Fae rapped lightly on the door frame. “Hey, Cruz.”
Cruz didn't seem to hear her knock, thanks to the loud music in his earbuds.
She crouched down, tapping him on the shoulder.
He opened his eyes, blinked, and lifted his hands to take out the earbuds. "Fae!" He exclaimed with a grin.
Fae grinned back. “Hey, Cruz! Whatcha listening to?”
"Coldplay," he laughed, turning off the music and standing up. He slid his hands into his jean pockets, "How.. how are you?" He smiled affectionately.
Fae set the Eclairs on the table. “Not to bad, you?” She squeezed his hand.
"Nervous," he replied, nodding his head briefly to direct her attention to the guitar sat up in the corner.
A smile lit up her face. “Don’t be.”, she laughed softly. “I’m sure it will be spectacular.”
