"Maybe we could—" Cruz began, but stopped when the two collided, "Woah, there," he took a step back.
"Maybe we could—" Cruz began, but stopped when the two collided, "Woah, there," he took a step back.
Fae's wings exploded outwards in one big ruffled poof in fright and confusion. Shaking her head to clear it, she turned her head and saw none other than the girl who'd fought the bomb-guy with the daggers. "You?"
Cruz brought a hand to rub his eyes, convincing himself he got something in his eyes with the sudden assault of her wings.
"…………..Hi again. Sorry for bumping into you." She took a few steps back.
Fae blinked. "Hi?", she said, baffled. Macha nudged her with her toe. "Um, hi there. I'm Macha.", she introduced herself, glancing sideways at Fae. "How do you guys know eachother?"
"Ummmmmmm………..Weeeeeeeeeeellllllllllllllllllllll……………………I kind of almost destroyed the pottery shop. Well, indirectly."
Cruz crossed his arms and exhaled a groan, "Oh, geez.."
Fae frowned. "Wait– that was your fault? I thought it was the crazy Russian chap?"
(@Natasha, your turn!)
Sabine nodded. "It was his fault, yes. That is why I said indirectly. And the 'crazy Russian chap' is a wanted assassin. Again, I;m really sorry that I dragged you into that." She looked at Fae and Macha carefully. Why them? And why now?
"Well, I see you uh, decided to come along to this place of terror," Cruz half laughed, eyeing the ferris wheel again.
Macha and Fae played along, both trying for a smile. "Err, we're contemplating going on this ride. Want to come too?", Fae asked to break the tension.
Sabine gave them a half-smile. "I would love to." She looked up at the gigantic ride.
"Cruz?", Fae looked at Cruz for affirmation.
He shrugged loosely, "I uh, I don't mind."
"Let's go then!", Macha grinned, tugging them all into the line, significantly shorter now.
Cruz frowned a little, becoming more nervous.
Fae sensing this, stepped a bit closer, as if to comfort him as they approached the front of the line.
He rubbed his hand along her arm in silent thanks.
Fae's whole body buzzed at the contact as the four of them piled into the ferris wheel compartment, Macha strategically placing herself next to Sabine so that Fae and Cruz ended up together.
Cruz sat beside Fae, nice and snuggled up against her side. She coukd feel the tension practically oozing from his skin.
The ride started, rocking a bit as they were lifted higher and higher. Macha flashed Fae a grin, fluttering her huge wings as best she could in the cramped interior of their seats. Macha loves heights, Fae didn’t mind them. But Cruz…
Cruz practically gripped Fae's arm with fear, stiff as an iron pole.
"It's okay.", she murmmured under her breath as they seemed to soar upwards, dazzled by a gorgeous view of the whole city.
His complexion paled, "This is too high," he commented in a shaking voice, clasping and unclasping his sweating hand.
