Fae stared after the ambulance, gripping Macha’s hand tightly. “Jesus Christ. Poor Sabine. They’d better have magical healers at the hospital.”, blinking the years out of her eyes, she turned to Cruz. “I panicked back there, and I’m sorry. I should’ve reacted quicker nd called 911.” A single tear tricklec down her face.

Macha shuddered, and Fae clenched her fist to keep herself from shaking as tears poured down her eyes. Macha’s face was damp, and her wings drooped. “This is my fault, I should have run after her. I have a knife with me, I could have fought whoever had the nerve to stab her.”, she whispered, trembling.

Two tiny sparks of anger burst to life inside of Fae, one for Sabine’s wretched attacker, and one for the ‘Yeah’, that Cruz had just given the obviously torn and guilt-ravaged Macha. She smothered the latter, thinking: Its not his fault, we’re all in shock. Fae wiped the tears from her cheeks but they just kept coming, the blood on the ground bringing horrible images to life in her head. In her mind, she started reorganizing her schedule, adding in time to visit Sabine, to buy her flowers, to visit her again and again and apologize until the day she died.

Resorting to her usual comforting technique, Fae pulled out some homemade coconut cake pops from her bag, offering them silently to Cruz and Macha.

He quietly accepted, pulling his shirt sleeve down his arms. His demeanor was off, uncharacteristically cold now, but he accepted her offer.

Beep. Beep. Beep. Sabine opened her eyes. She was in a hospital room. "H-how did I get here?" She wondered aloud, her voice weak and quiet.

@blue_topaz

Fae and Macha rushed in, bearing a get well soon card and carrying the cake she’d baked last night as well as a small pendant from the clay shop.

@Natasha

Sabine's family had stayed with her for most of the night, but her siblings had to go to school and her parents were both pulled away by emergencies. But they had left some gifts and a card by her bed.

Sabine looked up at the three teens who had filed into her hospital room. She gave them a weak smile. "Hey." She said softly.
