"Really? I wanted to be hot and sexy, but I guess I can't have everything. Especially since I have you already." Luka brushed his lips across Axel's knuckles, gazing up at him with star-filled eyes.
"You're hot and sexy too, don't worry," Axel answered, his words turning into a faint mumble as he felt Luka's lips on his knuckles. A faint blush made it onto his cheeks and he hoped that it wasn't too visible.
Vaughn’s lips were turned into a frown now. Couldn’t Kaz see that he was just trying to help him? He could tell that Kaz didn’t want to talk about it, but he really believed that talking could make Kaz feel better.
Kaz walked in silence, his gaze fixed on the hospital growing closer and closer. They eventually reached the building, and he took a deep breath before walking up the steps to the front doors
Vaughn headed up the steps, pulling the door open for Kaz. He went inside after Kaz, glancing around in an anxious manner. He thought that he should go to the front desk, so he walked over. “Name?” The man at the front desk asked.
“Finley.”
“Vaughn or Jack? We have two Finley’s in our system.”
Vaughn took a shuddering breath, tensing up at the mention of his dad’s name. “Vaughn Finley.”
Kaz arched a brow but said nothing. Did Vaughn have a relative in the system or something? He knew his cousin had been in and out a few times when his parents thought he had turned Michael crazy, but he hadn't been in at the same time as his cousin in years. He tapped his foot absently as he waited, trying to think of the right time to ask about the home therapy
Vaughn stuffed his hands into his pockets as the man typed at his computer. “You’re due for your medication. You know where to go.”
Vaughn bit the inside of his cheek and nodded a bit. He glanced over at Kaz, brows raised expectantly.
Kaz snapped out of his thoughts, clearing his throat before speaking. "So, um. I'm under the impression that a Dr. Harlock should have stopped by to talk about how he wanted to try the at-home therapy program from Sweden? He told me that he wanted to use me and Vaughn as sorta test subjects, where Vaughn would move in with me for a while to see how we improved."
The man arched a brow, giving the pair a skeptical look. “He did talk to stone of the doctors about this, yes,” he said. “It was approved, but we can’t give him his medicine. It’s too addictive, so he would need to come here to receive it.” As he spoke, he motioned to Vaughn with one hand.
"Yeah, that makes sense. But can we move Vaughn to my apartment like…today?" Kaz asked, flashing his best smile. "We spent all day yesterday doing the preliminary stuff, and when I talked to Dr. Harlock he said we were good to move Vaughn's stuff into the apartment."
“Right… Go get his things, then. Sign yourselves out when you leave,” The man said. Vaughn gave a grunt in response, pulling Kaz away from the desk and towards an elevator. “Good job,” He murmured, reaching out to give Kaz’s hand a squeeze.
"Thanks. I have a way of getting what I want," Kaz hummed, flashing Vaughn a small smile as they walked towards the elevator. "I'm just surprised Argo actually showed to bribe them. Normally he would have just told me I was being greedy or something," he laughed
Vaughn pressed a button and the doors opened. He stepped inside with Kaz and pressed a button, the doors shutting slowly. “It’s good he did show up. That guy did not look too convinced, though,” he said.
"Yeah, well, that's probably because Argo used all his mindwiping abilities for the day. Brainwashing people is great, unless you've only got the juice to do it to a certain point before you gotta wait 24 hours to do it again," Kaz hummed, leaning back against the back wall of the elevator
“Can you brainwash people?” Vaughn asked, a dark brown arched in question. He leaned back against the wall next to Kaz, looking down at him.
"Nope. Just zap people," Kaz said, holding out his free hand to wiggle his fingers, making sparks of violet electricity dance across his hand. "Though it would be useful. I could just walk up to a bank and tell them to give me enough money to pay my rent on time or something," Kaz laughed
Vaughn laughed as he looked at Kaz’s hand. “That’s still a cool thing. It’d be awesome to be able to do things like that,” he commented. The elevator stopped, and the doors slid open, and he stepped out.
"Sure it'd be awesome, but do you know how much I have to eat to keep up the energy to do this? I eat like a goddamn pig," Kaz chuckled, walking out of the elevator with Vaughn
“You better not be discreetly calling yourself fat again,” Vaughn said, lips turning into a slight frown. He walked down the hall, to where his room was at the very end of it.
"No, I'm just saying that I have to eat a lot to zap things. Though I can't really do much anymore since I've lived off ramen and the occasional charity breakfast Mikah's grandma sends me," Kaz said with a shrug
“Why did you never ask me for money? I have a bit, I could have helped you,” Vaughn said, continuing to frown. Why wouldn’t Kaz come to him. Weren’t friends supposed to help each other in that way?
"I…I don't know? I guess I just didn't want to bother you with my problems," Kaz mumbled, staring down at his feet sheepishly. You know why. You know that as soon as you ask for money, he'll turn you into his little bitch, his mind sneered, and he couldn't help the small grimace that crossed his face. Vaughn wouldn't do that to him. He wasn't like Finn
“Kaz, we were friends. I would have gladly helped you out,” Vaughn said. He wanted to make it clear that Kaz could come to him for anything. He wanted to be able to take care of Kaz.
"It's okay, Vaughn, really. I'll live," Kaz assured him. "I'm supposed to start working at a new tattoo parlor in a few days, so I'll actually have an income again. Then I can pay Erik to fix my bike and everything."
“If you say so…” Vaughn said slowly. He walked to his door and opened it, stepping into the small bedroom. “I don’t have much, just a few changes of clothes and such,” he said, walking over to a small dresser.
"That's okay. Hey, we could even go to the mall and go shopping sometime," Kaz suggested, flopping down onto the bed as he watched Vaughn. "I mean, I need to get more clothes myself anyways. But we don't have to if you don't want to," he added quickly
