Lana darted into the water, gasping a bit as the cold liquid touched her ankles. It felt amazing. She gazed up at the stars in awe and smiled, enjoying the feeling of the water crashing around her knees.

Thorn walked up next to Lana. She was beaming and shivering as the water splashed around them. She wanted to just float away into the night with Lana at her side. The moonlight was amazing reflected off of the water.
Lana glanced over at Thorn, planning on smiling at her then directing her attention back to the sky. But Thorn's face stopped her cold. The moonlight, reflecting in her eyes…the shimmering light reflecting from the water onto her face…the paleness of her skin against the inky waves…the red of her eyes against the neutral blue-gray-black hues of the setting… "I'll never get over how," Lana paused. "I'll never get over how stunningly gorgeous you are."
Thorn's face heated up as she looked over to Lana. Her red eyes a glow in the darkness, "Um thanks? Y-you're pretty beautiful yourself."
"Yeah, sure," Lana snorted, ignoring the compliment. "But really. Someday I want to draw you out here. The contrasts are incredible." Her heart skipped a beat at Thorn's blush.
Thorn pulled her hair behind her ear, "S-sure! I guess my paleness and dark atmosphere works well together. I wonder what you would look like in the sunlight?"
"Yellow," Lana admitted with an amused grin. "But I'll admit golden hour makes me look like an Instagram baddie." She giggled.
Thorn looked at Lana. She took a step closer and felt her blush increase, "I don't know if you would look yellow. I guess I'll never find out."
"Stop blushing!" Lana protested. "You know how I get when you blush!" She bent over and splashed the water at Thorn, laughing.
Thorn's blush only increased as she leaned down and splashed Lana back, "I can't help it! You make me feel things! A-And make me blush because you're so gosh darn cute!"
" May i join?"
"Well I can't help that!" Lana said, continuing to splash her. Oh, great, now she was starting to blush too. "You stop being cute!"
Thorn splashed her again. She could see a slight tinge of red on Lana's face. She said, "No you stop being cute!"
"No, you!" Lana dove for the other girl and tackled her. They both fell into the water, sputtering and laughing as the waves continued to crash over them. Their faces were inches apart. "Oops," Lana giggled.
Thorn was a giggling mess. She wanted so badly to kiss Lana, wait what? She smiled at her, face cherry red, "Yeah. Oops."
"Should I move?" She asked in a low voice, her heart racing. Lana was practically crushing the other girl.
Thorn shook her head. Her voice was soft and sweet, "Y-you don't have to. I-I don't want you too."
Kaz sensed the way that Vaughn's electrical field fluctuated a bit. He moved his hand away from Vaughn's hair slowly, a look of concern on his face. "Are you okay? Did I hurt you?" he asked softly, suddenly scared that he might have done something wrong
“What? No, no you didn’t hurt me, you didn’t do anything wrong. It’s just..” Vaughn started, cutting himself off with a deep breath. He had talked to Kaz countless times about his families murders, why was it more difficult to mention now. “I have a scar back there, it’s hard to tell because it’s under the thicker part of my hair. I got it back during the night of the homicides, when he-,” he didn’t say ‘father’ or ‘dad’, “-jerked me away from Adeline. We were on the stairs so I fell and hit my head, and it left a pretty good scar.” But he had plenty of scars, yet this one bothered him. It reminded him of this little sister, the last time he held her, before she was ripped away- both literally and figuratively.
"I'm sorry, Vaughn," Kaz said softly, moving the hand that was near Vaughn's head to rest on his chest. "I won't touch it anymore, okay?" he assured him. The last thing he wanted to do was accidentally hurt him, either physically or mentally
Thorn shook her head. Her voice was soft and sweet, "Y-you don't have to. I-I don't want you too."
"You don't, huh?" Lana leaned in closer, her hand caressing the side of Thorn's face.
Thorn was blushing profusely. She moved her head in a nodding motion as she whispered quietly, "Yeah I don't."
Lana wanted to kiss her so badly. But she wasn't sure. What if Thorn wasn't as into her as she thought? After all, she hardly ever initiated affection. Maybe she was overthinking this. She leaned in almost imperceptibly closer.
Thorn couldn't resist the urge. Lana face was too close to hers. She had never really had a 'romantic' relationship, so she wasn't sure if she was doing this right. She leaned up just slightly so that her lips brushed against Lana's.
The moment their lips met, Lana stopped thinking. She immediately deepened the kiss, pulling Thorn closer.
"I'm sorry, Vaughn," Kaz said softly, moving the hand that was near Vaughn's head to rest on his chest. "I won't touch it anymore, okay?" he assured him. The last thing he wanted to do was accidentally hurt him, either physically or mentally
“No, it’s alright.. I like when you run your fingers through my hair, but that just brings back memories,” Vaughn murmured. He needed to get used to it. Needed to learn how to control himself so he didn’t cause Kaz any worry.
