Kaz gave a soft groan in response, his vision still swimming as he tried to move himself a little so he could see. He reached up, blindly fumbling with the helmet before tugging it off gingerly. "You okay, Vaughn?" he asked, not caring about himself at the moment. He blinked away blood from a small gash on his forehead, his vision slightly blurred from the crack in his glasses
"Do you really want to know?" Luka poked Axel's shoulder, a grin on his face. To kiss or not to kiss?
"S-sure," Axel nodded, his blush deepening as he looked down, tugging on the drawstrings of his hoodie. He shifted in his seat nervously, finally meeting Luka's gaze after a few moments. "I'd be honored to know."
“My arm hurts, I think it’s broken. But besides that I think I’m fine,” Vaughn answered. He saw Kaz in his blurry vision and forced himself to his feet, a slight limp in his step as he struggled to walk over. He sank back down to the ground with a hiss of pain once he was with Kaz. “How about you?”
"Honored? You're such a dork, Axel." Luka leaned in, pressing his lips to Axel's cheek and blushing furiously. At least I'm fabulous. .
"I'm fine, I'm always fine," Kaz muttered, managing to drag himself close enough to Vaughn to rest his head in his lap. He squinted through the sunlight as the person who had run into them was being arrested for something or another. Lucky bastard had made it out with barely a scratch. He scowled at them, closing his eyes to keep the sunlight from hurting so much
“Are you sure? You’re ankle isn’t looking too good, and you’re bleeding,” Vaughn said, resting his broken arm against his chest. He looked down at Kaz, though tried not to let any of the blood from his cheek or nose, drip onto Kaz.
"M' fine," Kaz insisted. "I'll just have Cas fix us up, get Argo to piece the bike back together and we'll be good to go," he murmured, wincing as he tried to move his damaged ankle
“Fuck,” Vaughn cursed softly, letting his eyes fall shut for a moment. This hadn’t been the first time he had broken a bones and it sure as hell wouldn’t be the last time. He didn’t think he would ever get used to this terrible feeling. The taste of blood filled his mouth and he turned his head away, spitting out blood onto the ground.
"Hold on, let me just…" Kaz trailed off as he reached into his pocket for his phone. He frowned down at the slightly cracked screen, a little disappointed that it had finally gotten damaged after all these years. He dialed Cas, waiting for it to ring as he put it on speaker
Vaughn forced his eyes to open, blinking away black spots. He heard the sound of an ambulance in the distance and leaned back so he was laying now, careful not to move Kaz’s head around too much. He rested his arm back across his chest, grimacing as he looked at a slice that went from the heel of his palm and down his wrist.
The phone continued to ring for a long moment, and Cas finally picked up. "Kaz? What the hell are you calling for, I'm nocturnal, remember?" he asked grumpily.
"Got in an accident. I need you to come grab me and Vaughn and the bike before people start asking questions," he muttered quietly
Vaughn listened to their conversation, concentrating on his breathing. So much for being calm. His meds happened to not help under physical trauma moments such as this one.
"Okay, okay, chill. I'm sending Argo over there to grab you two. He'll zap the ambulance and you guys can get out easy," Cas said before hanging up. A few minutes later a dark, shimmering Gen. One Impala pulled up, and Kaz gave a tired wave as Argo all but ran out of the car to their sides.
"God damn, are you two alright?" he asked frantically
“Fine,” Vaughn hissed in response, knowing that’s what Kaz would probably have said. He sat up against his good arm, seeming off balance because of if. He glanced at Kaz, seeming more concerned about him than he was about himself.
"Wait wait wait, sit your ass down. I'll be right back, just going to go stun the emergency crew long enough for us to get out of here before I wipe them," Argo said, gesturing frantically before jogging over to his car. There was a cop standing next to it, looking absolutely confused as to how such an old car was being driven in such good condition, and Argo signed something to him before the cop went completely still. He went around doing this to most of the emergency crew, all while Kaz laughed a little at the sight
"Honored? You're such a dork, Axel." Luka leaned in, pressing his lips to Axel's cheek and blushing furiously. At least I'm fabulous. .
"Yeah, yeah…I-I know," Axel stammered, biting his bottom lip softly as he felt Luka kiss his cheek. He glanced over towards him, raising a brow. "You wanted to kiss my cheek? I already made a powerpoint presentation of the things I would do." He joked, but the blush on his cheeks stayed.
Vaughn turned his head to watch Argo for a moment, but he was more distracted on the truck driver who had hit them. The whispers cut through the effects of the medication, telling him to get up and go hurt the man. He hurt you, and he hurt Kaz. An eye for an eye, Finley, they hissed.
Argo returned a few minutes later, crouching down as he scooped Kaz up in his arms. “Hold on, I’ll be right back,” he told Vaughn before walking over to the car. He set Kaz gently in the back seat before returning to where Vaughn was. “Can you walk?”
“Yeah, I can walk,” Vaughn muttered, slowly getting to his feet. He walked slowly, a small limp in his step from a small gash on his thigh. He walked over to the car, waiting a moment for Argo to tell him where to go.
“Get in wherever,” Argo said, opening the driver’s side door and sliding inside. Despite the fact that the exterior was old, the interior appeared new and almost high tech
Lana smiled at her enthusiasm. "Try one of the fried crab ones. They're amazing."
Thorn grabbed one of the fried crab. It tasted even better than the first, "How did I go so long without ever having this?"
"You've definitely been missing out," Lana said.
Thorn laughed quietly. She smiled, "I'm glad I'm not anymore. That would seriously suck."
"What other foods haven't you tried?" Lana asked curiously.
Thorn thought a second, "Anything with fish, obviously. I have a list back in my room, there's too many to remember. So I wrote them down."
Vaughn considered getting in the passenger side, but then again, he wanted to be close to Kaz. So, he slipped into the backseat, not caring to put his seatbelt on. He tilted his head back, clenching his jaw at the feeling of his aching arm.
“Okay, everyone alright?” Argo asked, starting the engine and pulling out into the road. The emergency crews around them appeared to be in a hypnotized daze, going about their business slowly as they began to leave
Vaughn simply grunted in response, concentrating on the pain he felt to keep himself awake. He reached out with his good hand and rested it over Kaz’s. His let his eyes fall shut from pure exhaustion.
