Kaz smiled at the touch, kicking up the kickstand before driving off. The hospital was a short drive away, so they arrived relatively quickly. Kaz parked just outside, propping the bike up as he looked at Vaughn. "Do you wanna just run in, or do you want me to come with you?"
“Oh, um, it doesn’t matter. I can just run in, it shouldn’t take me long,” Vaughn said as he got off the bike, handing the helmet to Kaz.
“Okay. I’ll be here,” Kaz said, taking the helmet and setting it gently in his lap as he propped the bike up on one leg
Damnit. . . I keep getting flustered. Luka looked away, his face almost as red as a cherry. "Yeah, why wouldn't you."
"Exactly," Axel nodded, shaking his head faintly and chuckling as he wheeled himself towards the edge of the balcony. It was a long drop and the heights were making him quite dizzy.
Luka followed him, looking down and remembering the time he'd fallen down a balcony once. It'd been terrifying, but hey, he was still alive. "Axel. You're so great."
"Really?" Axel asked as he played with the hem of his hoodie, still turned away so that Luka couldn't see the faint blush spreading across his cheeks. "Is my dark humor really that hot?"
"So hot." He placed a hand on Axel's shoulder, turning to look him in the eye.
Axel squirmed in his wheelchair nervously, looking down so he didn't have to meet Luka's gaze. He leaned forward, letting his curly hair fall across his face as he felt his face heat up. God, why am I getting so flustered?
Luka kneeled down, placing his hand under Axel's chin. "Is this the part where we kiss?" He asked, a bit breathless.
Lana smiled at her enthusiasm. "Try one of the fried crab ones. They're amazing."
Thorn grabbed one of the fried crab. It tasted even better than the first, "How did I go so long without ever having this?"
"You've definitely been missing out," Lana said.
Thorn laughed quietly. She smiled, "I'm glad I'm not anymore. That would seriously suck."
Luka kneeled down, placing his hand under Axel's chin. "Is this the part where we kiss?" He asked, a bit breathless.
"Oh, uh. . . I don't know. Maybe?" Axel answered rather quickly, biting his bottom lip as he shrugged.
"You're no fun, Axel." Luka pouted, slowly bringing his face closer to Axel's. "It's nice here, isn't it?"
"I am fun. . . when I decide to be." Axel countered, glancing to the side as he noticed the proximity of Luka's face to his own. He looked towards the garden and slowly nodded in agreement. This balcony was much nicer than the hospital rooms.
What's that supposed to mean? Luka plopped onto the ground next to Axel, blowing hair away from his eyes. He looked up, into the sky and folded his hands in his lap. "There are so many things I'm thinking of doing to you right now."
“Okay. I’ll be here,” Kaz said, taking the helmet and setting it gently in his lap as he propped the bike up on one leg
“Alright, I’ll be right back,” Vaughn murmured, leaning down to press a quick kiss to Kaz’s forehead. He walked away and to the front door, walking in. He spoke to the man at the front desk, explaining what he was stopping in for. Eventually, he made his way to the nurses office. After what felt like forever, he was able to take the new medication and go back outsid to Kaz.
Kaz lit up noticeably as he saw Vaughn walking towards him. He flashed a smile, putting his helmet back on as he set Vaughn's in his lap. Huh. Maybe he should put Vaughn's name or something on the other helmet since he seemed to be the only person who used it anymore. He had scratched out Finn's name long ago, after he had almost totally thrown the helmet out
Vaughn smiled when he noticed Kaz’s excited expression. He got in the bike and took the helmet, putting it on. He slipped his arms around Kaz’s waist, giving it a squeeze. “Mall now?”
Kaz nodded. "Yep," he answered happily, laughing a little at the squeeze to his waist. He started the bike again, double checking Vaughn was holding onto him safely before taking off
(is it bad that my angsty sleep deprived brain really wants them to get in a crash all of a sudden? lol I can't seem to let them go to the mall without wanting something bad to happen)

Vaughn kept his arms wrapped around Kaz’s waist, humming to himself. He could feel the meds kicking in, already clouding any anxiety he might have been feeling.

Kaz hummed absently to himself, eyes flickering across the road absently as he drove. It was nice, finally getting the opportunity to ride his bike this much. Everything was great. Fantastic at the moment, really.
Until there was a loud blare of car horns as a small car ran the stop light and rammed directly into them, flinging them across the road to skid to a stop in the park next to the mall
Vaughn felt the breath knocked of out if him when the car hit the bike. Things seemed to move in slow motion for a moment, and he was suddenly greatful he was wearing a helmet. After a moment of being in the air, he soon felt his body slam against the ground and he gave a pained yelp. He had landed on his side, and he was sure he broke his arm or wrist. Something in there.
Kaz gave a sharp yelp as he slammed into the ground, taking the brunt of the impact since the car had hit the front of the bike hardest. He rolled a few feet, soundless as he was stopped by a small tree. He slid to the ground, a painful mess in the grass as his helmet narrowly saved him from being knocked out. He was bleeding from several cuts on his arm, and he felt as though his ankle might be broken

"R-really? Like w-what. . ." Axel asked, his voice coming out in stammers as he covered his face with the sleeve of his hoodie. He was almost sure that it was bright red.
Vaughn gave a slight groan as he shifted where he laid. He was laying on the side of the road, near the grass. The car, Kaz’s bike. Kaz. He whimpered softly as he tried to push himself up using one hand. He pulled off his helmet with his good hand, tossing it aside loosely. He felt blood drip down the side of his face and some onto his lips, coming from a gash across his cheekbone and his nose. He looked around, trying to blink the blackness from his vision. “Kaz?” He choked out, praying to whatever god that was out there that Kaz was okay.
"Do you really want to know?" Luka poked Axel's shoulder, a grin on his face. To kiss or not to kiss?
