Draco's like... snow, "It's cold and cruel to begin with, but it's somehow beautiful, and you miss it when it's not there. And if you hold it in your hands close enough and long enough, it changes. It melts.”
'no I prefer it black"
'no I prefer it black"
Lysander sipped his own coffee, silently agreeing. Nowadays people put in some of the strangest flavors and ridiculous amounts of sugar in the drink.
She took a sip of her coffee,
”Did you sleep well last night? Apart from your nightmare I mean.” he asked, hoping to start a conversation.
Betty nodded, "I didn't wake up once it's the first time I've slept well in a long time" She said with a sigh.
Lysander raised a brow at this confession. ”I’m glad that you did but do you usually have nightmares like that frequently?” He queried in concern.
She nodded "yeah it'd my nightly routine" she said.
Lysander hummed in thought. ”That’s… unfortunate. How long have you had to live with those?”
"Since I was ten" She said taking another sip of coffee.
Lysander pursed his lips, wishing he could help her. Some Vampires, more powerful than him, could influence dreams though they mostly used that ability to terrify their next victim or to make someone forget their encounter.
"Nothing I can do my brothers used to sleep with me but Thier gone now" Betty said.
Lysander held back from asking if there was a way he could help. They were still strangers and despite the fact that she had asked him… Last night was probably a fluke. Who would enjoy sleeping next to a cold corpse?
”They sound important to you. What are they like?”
"They're rough but gentle at the same time that probably doesn't make any sense" Betty said.
”No, it sort of does actually.” Lysander assured. ”I know how boys are and I know what a normal wolf pack is like. I may not know as much as I think I do about werewolves but it makes sense to me that your brothers would have both those traits.”
"I'm the only Human Guess I got lucky Huh" she said.
He chuckled lightly. ”I would say they are the lucky ones. To have you for a sister.” Lysander froze quickly after saying that before taking another slow sip of his coffee. He didn't have blood enough to blush but his face felt warmer.
Betty bit his lip " Looks like I wasn't a good enough daughter" Betty said.
”Don’t say that.” he said in a low growl. ”I won't claim to know what your father was thinking but the fault lies with him, not you.”
"Maybe, Or Maybe he thinks I'm a worthless piece of trash because I'm not like the rest of my family He blames me for my mothers death and I guess it is my fault she died as soon as I was born" Betty said, setting her coffee down.
”Stop saying things like that!” He warned gripping his cup tightly, it was surprising it didn't shatter. ”You are a wonderful girl. The fact that you are not like your brothers is something special about you. Not something to dislike.” Lysander let out a breath to try to calm down. ”You were an infant. What happened to your mother was a tragic accident but it is in no way your fault.” Unlike what happened to my family.
" IT IS MY FAULT I"M NOT LIKE THEM BUT I"M NOT NORMAL ETHIER" Betty screamned but then broke down crying.
Lysander was completely taken aback by her tearful outburst. But he couldn't just do nothing, so he set down his cup and wrapped his arms around her. ”You are far more normal than anyone I know. I mean that in the best way possible. I am not normal and I wish I was. There is so much I can't do because I'm not.” he attempted to comfort her, rubbing soothing circles against her back. ”Tell me, when you were that young, did you hate your mother? Did you rip out her heart or tear at her throat?”
She cried into his chest unable to speak at the moment so she just shook her head.
”Then it's not your fault. And I don't want to hear you say that ever again.” he stated firmly, ”Not even under your breath, I have very sharp ears.” He was holding her close enough that her heartbeat could almost be mistaken for his.
"It's… I-I Did it" she sobbed out.
