Lysander gently tilted her head back so she could look in his eyes. ”No. You did nothing wrong. I want you to repeat this: ’It's not my fault.’ Ok? Say it.”
Lysander gently tilted her head back so she could look in his eyes. ”No. You did nothing wrong. I want you to repeat this: ’It's not my fault.’ Ok? Say it.”
Betty sniffled,it's not my fault" she said.
”That’s better.” Lysander smiled softly. ”I know you don't believe it yet, but if you say that to yourself every once in awhile eventually you will.”
She shook her head hugging him tighter.
He returned the gesture gently, letting her decide when to pull away. ”It’ll be alright.” he murmured softly, stroking her hair.
She cried some more soaking his shoulder. "I'm sorry".
”Don’t be.” he whispered, placing a feather-light kiss against her temple.
Betty looked up at him her tears still watery and tears still running down her cheeks.
He didn't bother to ask if she was feeling better. It was obvious. Lysander brushed away some of her tears, ”May I take you to the living room so you can rest a bit? Or would you prefer your own room?”
She hugged him tighter "P-please don't leave me P-please" she said.
He shook his head. ”I wasn't going to. I just thought you might like to lay down and rest.”
Betty was shaking in fear, She didn't hear his words but she was too scared. Scared he would leave her. he was all she had.
Lysander held her close. ”I’m not going to go anywhere, Betty.”
She hugged him tighter then, Her eye color turned white. "I'm not going anywhere Betty" Lysander said. They were at a pathway in thew woods he was in a tux and betty was in a white wedding dress. Betty's eyes turned normal but a cut appeared on her arm.
The faint smell of blood jolted Lysander but he managed to pull away slowly and looked at her arm. He raised a brow, ”How did this happen? It wasn't there a minute ago.”
"I told you I'm not normal" she said.
”I thought you were referring to your family being werewolves. If you didn't mean them…” Lysander trailed off. ”In what way, then, did you mean?”
Betty looked at him with a mysterious look.
Lysander met her gaze, unblinking. ”Please, tell me. I know you have no reason to trust someone like me. A bloodsucking stranger. But I don't want you to think I won't care if something happens to you.”
"It's nothing" she said.
Lysander rolled his eyes. ”Please, I asked you not to lie to me.” he gently cupped her cheek, ”I already said I have sharp ears. I can't help but hear your heart race.” he chuckled humorlessly with a shrug. ”It’s a part of being the kind of monster that I am.”
"Your not a monster" Betty said and kissed his cheek.
Yes, I am. Lysander sighed. ”It’s kind of you to say that, but you don't know everything I have done. I know I don't look it but I am very old. I have to drink the blood of other people who are still alive or I go into a rampage I can't control.” Please understand.
"I know but you see if you need my blood that's fine" she said.
Lysander shook his head. ”Don't tempt me with that.” he took a couple of steps back but still held her arm gently. ”I wasn't asking for yours. I don't want to hurt you. I have other ways that I have used for a very long time.”
