Draco's like... snow, "It's cold and cruel to begin with, but it's somehow beautiful, and you miss it when it's not there. And if you hold it in your hands close enough and long enough, it changes. It melts.”
"I-I don't know" she said.
"I-I don't know" she said.
”This has never happened before? Maybe we should get you to a hospital.” he suggested softly, still very concerned.
"no i'm fine" betty said.
”Your heart stopped, Betty. The only reason you are ’fine’ is because I was able to restart it using CPR.” Lysander furrowed his brows. ”If your reluctance comes from not being ’normal’, I have a… colleague who is very discrete and familiar with matters like that.”
"I'm okay" she said.
She’s stubborn. he sighed. ”Betty, why do you hold your health in low regard? I want to take care of you but I can only do so much if you don't let me help you.” Lysander gently cupped her cheek.
"I don't like help" she said.
Lysander raised a brow at her statement. ”Why not?”
"Help gets me hurt" she said.
He blinked in confusion for a moment before shaking his head. ”I won't hurt you.” he promised, taking her hand. ”I know I’m technically dead but I couldn't ”live” with myself for eternity if I let something happen to you.”
" I have trust issues" she said.
Lysander let go of her hand slowly, reluctantly. ”I can understand that.” he relented I’m moving too fast… How can I ask her to trust me after not even 24 hours? ”I just want to make sure that you stay well.”
"i'm fine" she said.
”At the moment.” He agreed bitterly. ”But if your heart stops again like that then I will take you to my colleague at the hospital.”
She sighed and brushed her lips against his.
Lysander completely froze at the contact. Betty was by no means his first kiss but for a split second he could have sworn his heart gave a light thump.
she pulled away "I'm fine okay?" she asked.
Lysander sighed softly, recovering from the slight shock, ”You can say that until the sun burns out… But I can be pretty stubborn too.” If it ever comes to it… there should only be one reason for her heart to stop. If that's what she wants one day.
she sighed.
”I’m sorry. I may be a lot of things that are less than good but I am not cruel.” Lysander tried to justify.
she nodded, "i know" she said.
Lysander didn't relax at hearing her say that. ”Then you should know that is the reason why I want to make sure you stay ok. I did study a bit of medicine so I can handle the cuts from your gift, but I am far from being a Doctor.”
"I'll be fine" Betty said.
”Alright. I'll let the subject drop for now, but I still stand by what I said before.” he relented.
She nodded "i'm gonna rest for a bit" she said.
