”Very true. And without the light, the darkness cannot be seen.” Lysander agreed. ”Your mother sounds like a very smart woman.” Perhaps you could be my Light. He bit his lip to keep from adding that thought and embarrassing himself so soon.
She sighed " I wish she was here I could use her advice somedays" Betty said.
”I am sorry for your loss.” he offered, unsure of what else he could say. His biological parents had died a very long time ago, some days he had a hard time remembering them. Though he wished he could completely forget Charles. Lysander barely held back a low growl at the name.
Betty looked at the moon her blonde hair seeming to sparkle in the moonlight.
Lysander closed his eyes and focused on his unnecessary habit of breathing. He may not have really needed to breathe but it was unpleasant when he went without for too long or when it was uneven. He needed to push aside those damned memories and try not to scare the young woman next to him.
"Do You have somewhere I can sleep I'm very tired" she said.
He nodded, ”Of course.” he stood and offered her his arm, like the old fashioned gentleman he was… Most of the time.
(So I have A crazy idea she comes from a family of mythical creatures it would be wierd if she didn't have some kind of power so…. she has visions she can see bad things and good things that happen she can also see in the past)
(Awesome power idea!!! I’m for it!!!)
(Yay but Lysander doesn't know no one does only her)
Betty hooked her arm in his with a small smile "Your a vampire and the legends about sunlight are they-" she asked.
Lysander chuckled. ”I won't burst into flames if that's what you're worried about. It does burn very badly… It's hard to describe the feeling. I try not to stay in it longer than I have to.” He had grown used to feeling pain but he had never attempted to verbalize the sensation.
"What if I told you I had a cure for that" she asked and looked at him.
Lysander gave her a look of disbelief. ”If it's to cover my skin with more clothes, I’m afraid I already discovered that method. And please don't suggest an umbrella during the day.” he cringed slightly. ”If I looked older than I do, then maybe it would work. But as I am; I look ridiculous.”
She shook her head she reached into her back pocket of her jeans which showed of her legs and pulled out a black ring with red stones.
Lysander raised a brow at the piece of jewelry. ”That’s beautiful. I hope that isn't an engagement ring.” he teased.
She rolled her eyes playfully "It;s a daylight ring" she said.
”How does it work?” He had to ask. ”It’s obvious I would have to wear it but how would it protect me?”
"I'm not sure exactly it's like a shield from the sun" Betty said.
”Interesting.” He hummed. ”And how did you acquire this ring?” Betty had unexpectedly become something of an enigma to him.
"My secret" she said with a smirk "You want it".
Lysander chuckled at her playful response. ”If you are offering. I am curious to see if it does work or not.” he admitted.
she held her palm out to him the ring lying in the middle.
”Thank you.” Lysander smiled, taking the ring between two fingers and slid it on his ring finger. ”Though I feel I should warn you; I have been this way for so long, I tend to sleep very late into the day.”
