@Luz_Noceda
(Sorry)
(Sorry)
(mmmmmm– zombies? injury? (i was gonna give Levi an injury when he showed up to the house anyway but was too distracted by our baby Mori))
(Ooh)
(Zombies sound interesting. It opens up several opportunities for the story.)
(Yeah)
(so they get attacked by zombles?)
(Sure!)
(If everyone's agreed, yeah)
(Ah, I'm sorry. This got lost in my notifs again 😔)
(It's fine! Don't worry about it.)
(Okay! Well, we can pick this up again if everyone's still down? Maybe zombie attack, and Earl and his sister jump in to help?)
(oh yessss)
(Sure.)
(Sounds good to me. I'm always happy to hurt my children lol)
(same XD)
(Who shall initiate the zombies?)
(I can, just gimme like half an hour. I have an assignment to finish.)
The sun was starting to set. The group had passed through a very rural area, devoid of buildings and homes for the most part.
Tohru was starting to worry until he saw the silhouette of a farmhouse in the distance.
"Guys, let's head over there," he murmured, "Quickly, before it really does get dark."
He had taken the lead, not quite running, but at a solid jog.
They hadn't been able to stop in time to collect food, but at least there was shelter. They wouldn't have made it otherwise. Not with all these kids.
By the time they were to the front porch, the sky was dimming fast, and he was grateful they actually made it.
There was the distinct sound of cracking branches in the woods nearby. Zombies had spotted them for sure, and were at the ready to attack them as soon as they could see well enough to pursue their prey.
Tohru opened the door to the house a bit more, cautious when he realized it was already cracked open slightly.
He held a hand back, signaling for the others to stay until he determined it was safe.
Holding his flashlight out in front of him, and his gun in the other hand, Tohru walked into the entryway, unprepared for what happened next.
From the dining room, a zombie ran at him and crashed into him, ramming his body into a wall. Tohru shouted in a combination of pain and shock, and he dropped his flashlight. He found himself fighting to keep the creature's teeth off of him, pushing against its forehead with his hand until he could shoot or somehow better defend himself.
(There are a few zombies in the house, and some outside that will appear when it's darker. So basically they need to ultimately clear out the house and barricade themselves in.)
(* Cracks knuckles *)
Earl and Rachel looked at each other, then at the quickly dimming sky. "Guess we should reveal ourselves." Earl said, frowning. Rachel was already racing down the street, having heard the shouting. "Or just do that. Yeah." He sighed and sprinted after her, knocking a few zombies down as he tried to catch up.
Rachel scrambled through an open window, raising her P229. "Is anyone in here? Do you need help?" She looked around, her flashlight cutting through the dark. "I'm here to help if you couldn't tell."
Mori was exhausted by the time the group made to the house, hungry and weak from his poor night's sleep. He was wary of the house when he saw it, but it really wasn't his place to speak up. He walked in quietly in the midst of the group and screamed in terror when Tohru was pinned to the wall, catching the attention of another zombie. He grabbed his pocket knife out of his pocket and dropped his bag before bolting, trying to keep out of the zombie's reach as tears threatened to spill from his eyes.
Levi pulled his makeshift staff out of its place attached to his bags and swung it, catching the zombie chasing Mori across the stomach and pushing it away. Memories trying to push their way into his mind where kept out by sheer adrenaline.
He slammed the end of the metal staff into the side of the zombies head and watched it crumple. He paused for a moment to long to catch his breath and barely managed to get his staff between him and the next attacker, which grabbed the pole, leaving both of them grappling with it.
(my brain went 'roll for initiative', help, dnd is taking over my life)
(Oop)
Mori managed to push through into another room, where he unfortunately wasn't alone. Another zombie was waiting for him, and slammed him into the wall with one arm. Mori whimpered softly, forcing himself to his feet and grimacing as he felt sharp jabs of pain in his side and arm. Seeing that the zombie was now coming after him, he ran back out the door and headed up the stairs, locking himself in a closet so he could silently wait it out.
(no o oooo baby)
(Rachel will save you-)
Heading up the stairs, hearing footsteps and a zombie groaning, Rachel took her riot shield off her back. "I'm coming up the stair-GAGH!" She cried as she pushed the zombie away. "Hate these things. Worst creation since humanity." Rachel said under her breath as she fired her gun, sending three bullets into its head. "You can come out now!"
