Tohru struck Levi with a hard gaze when he saw the guy staring at them. He almost jumped straight to hostility, but held himself back, not wanting to make a scene.
"Um… did you need something?" he asked Levi.

Levi took a step back, "Sorry! Didn't mean to get in your way, just coming to check for supplies." He suddenly found himself staring at Mori again. Something about the kid was familiar but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. "You look really familiar, kid. Have I seen you before?"

(they both have terrible memories, this is gonna be a disaster)

Bean held Luka and Lilac closer, a little suspicious of Levi’s appearance. Luka and Lilac were still very tired. Bean tilted her head, about to ask why Mori was familiar to Levi but stayed silent.

(Lmao)
"U-Uh…" Mori cowered behind Tohru a bit, seeming nervous. "I-I dunno, sir… you look familiar too, but… I dunno why." He held tightly to Bean's hand, keeping his eyes firmly on Levi to try and figure out how he knew the man.

Tohru glanced between the two a bit, noticing that they did have quite a few similarities in appearance.
"Are you two… related, by chance?" He asked cautiously, "Mori's having trouble remembering a lot of the events leading up to recently, so… um…"
He shifted his weight onto one leg.

"We could be. I'm only related to one person about your age that I know of." Levi thought for a moment then gasped quietly. "Mordechai? Mordechai Menthi?" He asked, his eyes wide and mouth open.

"H-How do you know my name…?" Mori asked, his face paling as he cowered a bit more. "Who are you? Do I… d-do I know you?" He held tighter to Bean, trembling lightly.

"I'm Levi Hamilton, I'm your uncle. You were quite young last time we met, I'm surprised you recognised me at all." He said. His mind raced. He hadn't seen his nephew in forever, he was ashamed to realise he hadn't thought about him since before everything went downhill.

"Oh, shit… really?" Tohru murmured to himself, "That was kind of a shot in the dark there."
He cleared his throat.
"Well, it looks like you're traveling alone. Would you want to join up with us?"
Please, for the love of god say yes. I can't take care of all these kids by myself.

"Uncle…?" Mori tried to remember the man. He figured he might as well believe him considering that he knew his full name without Mori having told him, but he was still nervous. It had been years since they had last seen each other. Levi probably didn't know what had happened to Mori's parents either. But he would at least know who they were. "You knew my parents?"

"Oh thank god. Yes, I do want to join you." He said, relieved to not be alone.

He turned back to Mori, "Yeah, I did. Your mother was my big sister, Lorelai." He went quiet as he tried to recall as many memories of her and the rest of their family as he could.

Mori looked back up at Levi, his eyes stinging with tears at the mention of his mother's name. It felt so unfamiliar to him in such an odd way; like he should know everything about that name, and yet knew nothing. A name connected to the person who had brought him into this world, but a person he couldn't remember anything about. "What… what did she look like…?" He asked, his voice scarcely more than a whisper.

Tohru gritted his teeth. He hadn't brought the boy’s family up since they'd first met, really, afraid it would dredge up some trauma. After all, that's probably what made him forget in the first place.
He wanted to say something to comfort Mori, but he didn't know what. He couldn't possibly understand how the kid felt. Hell, he would be pretty okay with forgetting his own family.
Tohru offered a hand to hold, but nothing more. He would watch, in silence for the most part.

Levi thought for a bit. "Much like you actually." He said, smiling slightly at the thought. "You have her eyes."

Mori kept his gaze on Levi, moving forward so he could cling to Tohru's hand. "R-Really?" His voice was soft and airy, as though he were both afraid and desperate to be heard. "Why can't I remember her…?"

(GODDAMMIT friends THIS IS A DRAMATIC MOMENT)

(Lmao)

Bean looked between Levi and Mori. “Wait…what?!” she still couldn’t believe they were related. Lilac and Luka stayed silent. They were also in shock.
