(Yess)
Faye woke up to light streaming through the window. She shifted under the covers, yawning as she sat up a tad in bed. Only then did she remember that she wasn’t in her own bedroom or home. She collapsed back on the bed, covering her eyes with her arms as she exhaled sharply. She would never say that she regretted what she did, but she just wished that she was back home with her dad.
(Okay lmao)
Karina woke up, groggy from not having a good night's rest. She groaned as she sat up and rubbed her eyes. She pushed the blankets away and was about to get out of bed, when she stopped. She had almost kicked Calixto in the back of the head, forgetting he was still asleep at her bedside.
She reached out to attempt to wake him, but then decided against it, wanting him to get some rest. Carefully, she got out of bed and downstairs to make herself a cup of coffee. With lots of cream and sugar.
Lila jolted up heart racing. Her hand reached for the silver medallion. She whispered to herself as she gained her bearings, "Its okay. It was just a dream. It was just a dream."
Once calmed down and fully aware of where she was. Lila walked up stairs to go see if anyone else was up.
Faye forced herself to get out of bed, feeling groggy. She ran a hand through her hair in an attempt to fix the messy waves, fingers occasionally getting caught on small tangles. She stepped out of the bedroom and walked downstairs, heading towards the sound of movement.
Karina was in the kitchen stirring in the cream in her coffee when she heard a door open. Looking over her shoulder, she noticed Lila, looking quite tired. She also heard the footsteps of someone else coming down the stairs.
"You sleep alright?" she asked, still sleepy as well
"Yeah," Lila lied with a yawn, "How about you? Did Calixto come back?"
Karina was taken aback by Lila's question.
"Actually, he did… How did you know?" she asked, curiously. Did she hear him come in last night?
"Just a guess," Lila shrugged, "Figured if Dax didn't know about the iron wall, Calixto wouldn't either."
She nodded, understanding her reasoning. Finishing her preparations to her coffee, she offered some to Lila. She also offered warm tea if coffee wasn't her thing. Not everyone had the same taste for coffee after all.
Karina then noticed that it was Faye who had come down to join them and made the same offer.
Avi followed Ronan outside quickly. “I think her yelling woke me up, so I ran outside, but…” she said, looking around franctically.
“I’ll just have coffee,” Faye said, rubbing at her eyes. She hadn’t slept too well, anxiety keeping her awake for periods of time. “And Calixto is back?”
“She’s gone,” Ronan stammered, still clutching the flute. He stayed on his knees, finding it hard to breath as tears glistened in his eyes.
“Come on, we have to find her,” she said, eyes wide as she spun in a circle. “There was scuffed dirt. We’re there footprints?”
(shoot I actually have to work in this class XD)
“I saw some coming here, but I haven’t checked for more,” Ronan said in a pained tone. He picked up his violin and held both instruments as he looked down at the dirt.
Lila stayed quiet. She eventually decided to ask, "Uh, what's coffee?"
Karina gasped, mid pouring Faye's cup.
"You've never had it? Okay, we are letting you try this. It's really bitter if you don't add something in it, but some like it that way. It's up to your preference. Oh, I forgot to ask, Faye, what do you take in your coffee?"
“Just cream will be fine. And Lila, that’s crazy! I could never imagine not having coffee, I live off this stuff,” Faye said with a soft laugh.
(coffee is yes.)
"I never really had the time or money to have any," Lila raised her hands, "Sorry I lived off the streets."
"Don't be sorry!" Karina exclaimed. "All we're doing is introducing you to the wonders of coffee."
"Okay then," Lila shrugged, "I'm probably not going to like it very much."
"We'll see about that," Karina said with a wink. She opened the fridge and found a flavored creamer, and added it into the three cups. She added a slight about of sugar to Lila's cup, making sure it was sweet, but not so much so that it was unbearable to drink. She handed the warm mugs to both girls, excited for Lila's reaction.
“Thank you,” Faye said quickly as she took the cup from Karina. She looked over at Lila, smiling slightly as she watched, taking a sip of her own hot drink.
