(Are we just going to say that Dax and everyone else is with them?)
(That works.)
(Oh, crap, yeah. Sorry! :P)
(It’s all good)
Ronan nodded and stepped off the Block, breaking into a steady jog. He still held onto Calla as he went through the streets, making his way into the woods. He was pleased that it was day time out, so Corsai wouldn’t be a problem. He reached the cave and motioned for the others to follow. He walked through, eyes squinting into the dark as he eventually came out on the other side, now in the South Sector.
Lila followed after him trying not to let her old memories hold her back. They reached the South sector, "Let me help treat your burns."
Ronan looked over at Lila as he walked. “We need to get to cover first. There aren’t many humans here, but I’ve run into various packs of Malchai. Most stay away when they see what I am, but I’ve had some try to attack,” he said, as he left the woods. His pace quickened as he ducked behind a crumbled building, checking his surroundings.
Lila nodded and followed after the Sunai, "Are we good now?"
Ronan shook his head slowly and kept walking. Eventually, after walking a few more blocks, he arrived at a large, crumbled building that could have been a parking garage. He stepped inside, carrying Calla up a few flights of stairs until he reached the main level, the few cots spread out in their normal places. He walked over to the orange cot and payed Calla down as gently as he possibly could.
Lila followed after once they reached the cots she reached into her bag for the burn supplies. She laughed, "Youor lucky I have this on me."
Ronan frowned softly as he watched. “Why do you have that with you?” He questioned, resting his violin on his lap.
"Lived on the streets," Lila shrugged, "Burned myself on candles multiple times."
Ronan gave a nod as he watched and waited. He felt responsible that Calla had been taken. He had fallen asleep when he was supposed to be watching her.
Lila applied the burn cream to the younger Sunai. Once she was done she turned to the older one, "You next."
“There is nothing wrong with me,” Ronan said with a heavy frown, icy blue eyes narrowing softly at Lila. He didn’t want this human to touch him at all.
"You have burns," Lila rolled her eyes. She handed him the cream, "Just use this."
Ronan looked at the cream with the same expression before applying it to his burnt arms and wrists. He mumbled to himself in an annoyed manner as he did so. “I could have just healed after feeding.”
Lila sighed. She knew they would have healed after they fed, but that didn't stop her from trying to help them. She fingered her silver medallion. Lila looked at her gun and pulled out the iron rounds. As she grabbed them the iron pinched her skin so she winced a little as she quickly reloaded her gun. Lila shook her hand to attempt to get of the pinching sensation.
Ronan noticed the look Lila made when she touched the iron. He gave a slight look of disbelief. She obviously wasn’t Corsai, and if she was Malchai, she would have to be a half breed. But Malchai barely ever had children with humans, it was unheard of. What could she be?
Lila hoped none of them noticed so she tried to divert the attention, "So what were you three doing in the North Sector?"
Ronan cleared his throat, looking down at Calla. “We needed to feed, she was hungry,” he said, nodding towards Calla. He didn’t feel completely comfortable giving them their names just yet.
Lila nodded, "Okay. Not enough sinners down here?"
“Not enough humans. It’s mostly Malchai in the South Sector,” Ronan explained in a level tone, eyes shifting to peer at the two that had accompanied the humans.
Lila nodded, "That makes sense. Most of the escaped Malchai go straight to the South Sector."
“Most came over during the wars,” Ronan said, fingers trailing over the wood of the violin in thought.
Lila thought for a second, "Did any leave during the wars?"
