Faye looked over at Lila and checked the time. “We probably should head out,” she said, throwing her hair up into a pony tail. She adjusted her clothes and brushed her shirt off so it wasn’t as wrinkled.

"You ready Karina?!" Lila shouted.
Coming down the stairs, Karina nodded. She had considered offering the invitation to go to Calixto or Dax, but then again, what Malchai would want to witness a cruel trial?
Calla was picked up and placed on a platform as she counted the seconds from one to ten. "One." Ronan's coming. "Two." he promised he would. "Three." if I hadn't been such an idiot, Ronan wouldn't have to come. "Four." I'm going to die today. "Five." Ronan will come. He has to. "Six." I can hear the people cheering. Do they hate me that much? "Seven." am I really a monster? "Eight." I kill. I reap. I am a monster. "Nine." if I don't die, I promise that I won't reap ever again. "Ten." how would I eat?
Faye smiled at Karina and nodded, walking towards the door. She went out, waiting for the others for a moment before walking at a quick pace to the Square.

Ronan’s lungs burned again as he ran. Once he reached the North Sector, he hid the instruments under his coat. He also took what looked like an iron chained necklace. It tinged against his skin as he slipped it around his neck. It wouldn’t leave burn marks like it did to most, but it would definetly feel uncomfortable. All humans wore those, it wold make him blend in more. He eventually got out of the woods, slowing into a decent paced jog, feeling exhausted. But he had to keep going. He couldn’t rest.
Lila followed Faye off and walked towards the square. Already there was a large crowd, she fingered her medallion with one hand and her gun with the other. She muttered to herself, "This isn't going to be easy."
(shiz, I gotta gooooo)
(Ahh no)
(Going to bump this up)
Faye nodded and frowned heavily. She couldn't see who was on the Block, but it must have been a big deal. There were more people crowded around than normal. She did her best to shift through the crowd, trying not to bump into too many people. Once she got to a spot where she could see, her eyes widened. “The Sunai child?”
"No way," Faye's hand pulled the gun out and got ready to shoot, "We're helping them."
Faye quickly shook her head. “Lila, don’t. You shouldn’t take that out, not right in the middle of the crowd. We’ll be dragged up there and executed outselves for being traitors. If that Sunai is here, wouldn’t that mean the other two were coming? Remember, the older was very protective of her? He has to be around here somewhere.”
Lila put the gun down, "If they don't come soon I'm getting her down myself."
She didn't know what was going to happen to her. She could only hear the crackling flames. And she feared the worst. Calla was tied to a wooden stake and she closed her eyes, begging Ronan to come. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.
Ronan arrived at the Square and began to shove through the crowd, not caring when people cursed him. He reached the edge of the crowd and looked up at Calla on th block, eyes widening at the fire. “Calla!” He shouted before jumping up onto the stage. An armed man yelled at him to get off the Block, but Ronan brandished his violin, smashing it roughly across the man’s face, causing him to fall from the Block. The vibrations from the strike shot through his body, making him shudder. But it wasn’t broken, it was okay. He grabbed the torch from another man, throwing it away from the pile of not yet lit wood before playing a sharp note. The man was not a sinner, but it still threw him harshly to the ground.
Lila saw the Sunai attacking the guards and quickly rushed up to help them. Her gun was brandished.
Yells rang through her ears and the man next to her quickly set down the flames on the pile of sticks underneath her feet.
"Burn to Hell," he spat at her before running away.
Calla did her best to escape from the flames, twisting and turning and sweating vigorously. Her arms were taking the full brunt of heat and getting burned. 2nd degree or 3rd?
Faye gasped when the Sunai had leapt onto the Block and struck the men. She followed after Lila quickly, pulling out her own gun and loading the cartridge as she ran.
~~
Ronan’s head snapped towards the flames. He gripped the chains holding Calla to the stake and pulled tightly until he heard the snap of iron. It felt uncomfortable and static like in his hands, but he did it anyways. He snatched up Calla, holding her close to his chest. “It’s okay, I’m here now,” he murmured, pressing a kiss to the side of the young Sunai’s head.
Lila saw the older Sunai help the younger out of the fire. She held off the guards, "Are you two okay?"
"Ronan!" tears rolled down her cheeks. "I knew you would come." Calla held onto him, "I'm never letting go." she was so relieved and in so much pain. Her arms had large burns covering them, almost to the point of melting her skin off. "My flute?"
Faye did her best to help Lila, though she was a lousy shot. She looked at the two Sunai with wide eyes. The younger one looked seriously burned. She though they could only be hurt with iron.
~~
Ronan nodded quickly. He took the flute from under his jacket, pressing it into Calla’s hand. “It’s right here, I found it. Checked it over and everything. Not even a scratch,” He soothed, growing worried as he looked at her burns. He was no doctor, he had no medical training. He never dealt with this sort of this before. He finally turned his attention to the humans from before. They were.. helping? He looked to the one who spoke and gave a quick nod. “Do either of you have any medical experience?” He asked quickly.
"I do," Lila fired a few more shots. She was out of steel bullets, "Need me to take care of the burns?"
Calla hugged it to her chest, grateful that her beloved flute was back in her possession. "Who's there Ronana? I can't see them. Where are they?" she reached a hand out, trying to touch the person who'd spoke.
Lila reached down and touched Calla's hand, "I'm Lila. I'm here to help. We should get to a safer location."
The Sunai must have been completely blind. “We could take them to Karina and Calixto’s house,” Faye suggested, glancing around in a nervous manner.
~~
Ronan was hesitant to let the human, Lila, touch Calla, so he simply hugged her closer to him. “That may not be the best place. We should go to the South Sector,” he said, gripping his violin.
"Lead the way then," Lila nodded to the older Sunai. He was most likely going to lead them to the cave. Lila shuddered slightly remembering the first time she used that route.
