"Not before we get you a weapon," Lila reminded Faye, "Then we can get out of here."
"Not before we get you a weapon," Lila reminded Faye, "Then we can get out of here."
Faye groaned softly and looked over at Lila. “Why do I have to have one, exactly? I think I’m perfectly fine without one,” she said. She could never imagine herself hurting someone.
"It's better to be prepared than regret it the moment you need one," Lila explained, "I'm not asking you to ever use it. Just to keep it on you at all times and know how to use it. This world's a lot different than the one your used to Faye."
Faye gave a short sigh and nodded quickly. She supposed Lila was right. She had been sheltered by her parents from practically everything that could cause harm her whole intire life. God, she was pathetic. “What sort of weapon did you have in mind?”
"Probably either a gun or a knife like me," Lila said, "I'm leaning more towards gun since they are a lot easier to use. However it really is up to you."
“A gun should be fine,” Faye commented. “I think they sell them towards the opposite side of the Square.” She glanced in the direction she had mentioning, arms loosely folding over her stomach.
"Lead the way," Lila moved her arms, "Don't forget to pick up iron bullets."
Faye nodded and began walking again, shifting through the crowds of people. She kept her head tilted down as she walked, taking down her hair to let the thick, blonde strands slightly conceal her facial features. She had to be careful. If her Dad or any of his friends were at the Square, she would be in so much trouble, and she had no idea what would happen to Dax or Lila.
Lila lifted her chin up, one hand on her gun. The other on her silver medallion. She kept an eye on the crowds watching for any sudden movement that could indicate some type of trouble.
The group eventually reached the stand. The man who ran it gave a scowl in Dax’s direction, but smiled at Faye and Lila. She didn’t think she could feel more uncomfortable than she did in that moment. He asked what they were looking for and Faye looked over at Lila with an arched brow. “What do you recommend, you being the professional and all,” she asked with a faint smile, the corners of her lips barely twitched up.
"I would say a handgun or a pistol," Lila suggested, "But like I said your choice in the end."
Faye nodded at Lila and turned back to the man, asking for a handgun. He showed her the various ones they had, and she eventually chose one. She handed the man her card, asking for a few rounds of iron bullets. “Going to have fun with your Malchai tonight, huh sweetheart?” The man asked with a grin. Faye gave a timid laugh and took the gun and bullet packages from him.
"Don't tell anyone," Lila winked at the man. She hated herself for it, "We're not exactly supposed to do it in the house."
Dax stopped himself from growling at the man. His stomach flipped inside out when he remembered his other owners doing things like that to him.
Faye stepped away from the booth and began waking away. She glanced up at Dax, then back ahead, lowering her head again and slouching her shoulders. “Now I understand why the Sunai want to reap us, people are horrific sometimes,” she murmured, more to herself.
Lila followed after Faye. She turned to Dax, "I'm sorry about what I said. I needed to be convincing. Do you guys want to go back to my hideout?"
Dax silently nodded, silently wishing he could've been a Sunai himself.
Calla looked down at her arm, imagining 18 little marks. "I know. I should probably feed more. It's hard to reap souls. I'm blind, I can't tell if they're still there or not." even though she couldn't see the sinner's red hue, she could hear a slight buzz coming from them.
Ronan frowned softly and nodded. “Alright. How about you go out with me when I feed?” He offered, letting go of Calla’s arm.
"That would be nice." Calla reached out to touch his nose, make sure he was still there. "Why are you doing this for me?"
//I’ll just pretend avi is wandering around somewhere
(She could be there and jump into the conversation?)
Ronan chuckled when Calla touched his nose and his expression softened. “Us Sunai have to stick together, yeah? We’re family,” he said, though he wasn’t completely sure on the meaning of family.
"Family. Does that mean that I'm the daughter or younger sister? Are you the husband or older brother? Is Avi the wife then? It's not really that type of family, is it?" Calla pulled her knees up to her chin, muttering to herself. "Blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb. Do you know what that means, big brother?"
“Is she- what?” Ronan said, brow furrowing as he shook his head quickly. “No, I consider any Sunai to be a sibling of mine. And no, I don’t. Mind telling me?”
(The big brother comment made me scream from the cuteness)
