(OPIA, I MADE LATA A DARK BACKGROUND FOR THE SAKE OF THE GORE RP. SHE WAS JUST GONNA BE A LITTLE EDGY BUT NOPE. Now she's a cinnamon roll so I guess that helps)
Lila sighed as she looked at Dax. Her face grew concerned, "Did you forget about the iron wall? Or maybe you got unlucky and one of the guards caught you by the exit? Did you see the Sunai?"
//oof what do I do with tendi
I forgot she existed
Karina put her hands on his shoulders and shook him.
"And you call me an idiot! What part of accident don't you get? Please, go back to normal…" she pleaded, voice becoming shaky.
More awake now, Calixto could really tell that she was sincere. Accident. Accident. Accident. He repeated the word in his mind. She had never shocked him in the past… and treated him like a friend when he wasn't being an ass to her, gave him a comfortable room to himself…
Maybe the shock was his wake-up call…?
Sitting up fully, he wrapped the girl in an embrace, not caring about the sting of the iron necklace around the girl's neck touching his skin. It felt so unusual. A Malchai hugging their owner? He almost laughed at himself.
"You know why it can't go back to the way it was…" he said in his deep voice. Karina looked up at him, tears threatening to fall just like the night before.
"Thinking about it, we're both a kind of messed up. You own me, but treat me with kindness, and I, having no one else was a jerk to you. If… if you'll never do that shit again and shock me, then I'll see about being nicer. Princess," he said, whispering the last part.
//IM GONNA CRY
Karina nodded her head so fast, she feared her head may fall off.
"Now, just quit yer cryin', it's getting tears all over my shirt," Calixto said, letting her go.
Smiling, Karina stood up again and walked out of the room, yelling something about making them a damn good breakfast.
(DON'T CRY!!! But if you do, here's some online tissues throws tissues through the void to everyone)
(Opia, I hope you see that reference btw)
//a damn good breakfast

“Me? A weapon? I don’t ever think I’ve fought a day in my life,” Faye said with a soft laugh. There was a slight crowd beginning to gather, something about a Malchai. She motioned for Lila to follow her and nudged her way to the front of the crowd, as she was shorter and it was difficult to see over some people. When she saw the Malchai who was chained, her breath caught in her throat. “Lila, oh my god, it’s Dax,” she stammered, eyes wide.
“Does anyone here own this Malchai?” The man at the Block called. “If no one does, we can begin the bidding.”
Faye’s hand immediately shot up. “I do,” she called, struggling to keep the stammer from her tone. “It got out last night, and I’m glad you found it.”
“You should be more careful, girl. Maybe keep it on a leash next time. You’re going to need to pay a fine.”
She nodded quickly, and took a few bills from her wallet, handing it to the man, who pocketed it. “That will be more than enough. Get it out of here.”
Dax was unchained, and a few other men with large guns brought him off the Block and to the pair. Faye grabbed him by the arm, making a quick show of scolding him before pulling him away, leading him and Lila into an alley. “Dax, what happened? Did you get caught at the boreder? Are you okay?”
"I got caught at the border," Dax answered, "And I'm fine," he lied.
“Jesus, okay,” Faye said, rubbing at her eyes with her palms. “Maybe we can go stay with Karina and Calixto,” she suggested, a worried glint in her eyes.
“We were really hoping that you made it,” she added, rubbing at the back of her neck.
//if this is a bidding, can we stick tendi up there too
"Me too," Dax sighed sadly.
"You aren't dead so that's something," Lila said.
"Yeah," Dax shrugged.
Lila pulled out a makeshift collar. It looked almost identical to the normal Malachi collars except this one was just for show. She handed it to Dax, "Put this on."
Dax grabbed the makeshift collar and hesitantly put it on. Even if it wasn't real, he hated it.
"I'm sorry," Lila murmured, "We'll get it off of you once we're out of the market place."
(Uh sure)
“Let’s go then,” Faye murmured, brow furrowed. She stepped from the alley, making her way through the crowds. She stayed a few steps ahead of the others, rubbing at the bridge of her nose. Was she really going to get involved with all of this? Maybe if she went home and cleared things up with her her dad, things could be better…
