"I hope so," Lila responded, "It really depends if her knew an escape route to the South. Otherwise I don't think he did."

@Desvelarse pets

Faye gave a soft nod, mind clouded with worry. “I hope he did, somehow.” She tied her hair up into a loose bun, strands framing her face.

(I'll be able to do things for a few minutes)

“I think it’s Dax, I heard another Malchai call him that once. I don’t think he knows that I know, I never called that,” Faye explained in a soft tone.

@ShadeStar

"Why not?" Lila asked, "If you called him Dax he would've felt less like a possession. Names give us all an identity."

@Desvelarse pets

(We can, yeah)

Faye ran a hand over the back of her neck. “I wanted to, believe me, but I didn’t felt like I didn’t have the right to.”

@ShadeStar

Lila nodded, "I understand."

She yawned, "I'm going to sleep. It's been a long night. Put out the candles whenever you decided to sleep."

She walked over to her makeshift bed. It really was a blanket, some loose cotton, and a folded up blanket with more cotton inside. She looked over at Faye, "Night Faye."

@Desvelarse pets

(I can)

Faye nodded and gave a smile, crossing her legs. “Night, Lila,” she said, rubbing at her eyes. Filled with anxiety, she did blow out the candles, but found it impossible to sleep.

(Time skip to the other scene.)
Faye walked into the market square with Lila, feeling in a chatty mood. She hoped that she didn’t look tired, she hadn’t slept a wink. “I’m going to be needing to get some new clothes,” she said, pulling her wallet from her back pocket. “I have enough money to pay, and I can always use my card.”

Dax was roughly shoved onto the Block, chained in iron. He was pushed into a seat and chained there. Dax lowered his head. At least he wasn’t being executed, it was just a trial. He quietly thanked himself for not killing one of the humans, or he would’ve died there. In the crowd, he spotted Faye and Lila. One of the humans bellowed out in a loud voice.
(@Opia do you want to do him? I don’t know what he’d say so…. :P)

@ShadeStar

"We can get you new clothes after we get you a weapon," Lila laughed a little, "Preferably something iron, however steel would work just as well."

@Desvelarse pets

(Ah no im back, and I can)

Me? A weapon? I don’t ever think I’ve fought a day in my life,” Faye said with a soft laugh. There was a slight crowd beginning to gather, something about a Malchai. She motioned for Lila to follow her and nudged her way to the front of the crowd, as she was shorter and it was difficult to see over some people. When she saw the Malchai who was chained, her breath caught in her throat. “Lila, oh my god, it’s Dax,” she stammered, eyes wide.

“Does anyone here own this Malchai?” The man at the Block called. “If no one does, we can begin the bidding.”

Faye’s hand immediately shot up. “I do,” she called, struggling to keep the stammer from her tone. “It got out last night, and I’m glad you found it.”

“You should be more careful, girl. Maybe keep it on a leash next time. You’re going to need to pay a fine.”

She nodded quickly, and took a few bills from her wallet, handing it to the man, who pocketed it. “That will be more than enough. Get it out of here.”

Dax was unchained, and a few other men with large guns brought him off the Block and to the pair. Faye grabbed him by the arm, making a quick show of scolding him before pulling him away, leading him and Lila into an alley. “Dax, what happened? Did you get caught at the boreder? Are you okay?”

Poking his forehead, Karina attempted to wake Calixto. He stirred slightly in the covers on the mattress she had given him, then opened his eyes. The usual angry expression was gone, and replaced with a somber one.
"Anything you need, P-" Calixto caught himself. The nickname that he knew she hated wouldn't be okay to use anymore.
"Karina?" he finished, knowing she would get upset if he tried calling her master. That term gave both of them the shivers.
Still, she frowned. Karina had never heard her name spoken by Calixto since the day they had first met.
"No Princess? No, your majesty comments? Not even a rude comment for waking you up?" she asked, pelting him with questions. This wasn't like him. Where was the old Calixto?
The Malchai shook his head. Why fight when there's no point?
"No. Not unless you ask it of me," he replied in a monotone voice. Just like a good pet should.
