Once out of earshot, she attempted to talk to Calixto.
"Please talk to me again… the remote just fell from my hand and I don't know what I'll do with myself if you stay mad," she pleaded. The Malchai didn't respond and continued walking toward the house. He didn't want to hear excuses. Even if it were true, she had it on her anyways. She continued to keep the collar on him. She continued to act as if everything was fine. But nothing was fine about this. He had little freedom as it was. Just when he was starting to think the woman who owned him was at least a good enough person not to shock him, she did it. If this is the way it is, then there's no changing it. This was life, and there's no escape to the south sector.
"Then let's go," Lila walked towards the Wright's house. One hand on the medallion.
Calla hugged her pillow, closing her eyes, "Can you check my stitch marks? Are there 18 now?" she held out her arm.
(Hey, @Opia, should Faye's dad find them outside and blame Dax 'cause DRAMA?)
As Faye approached the house, she saw the porch light flick on and the door open. Fear built up in her lungs and she looked at Lila and Dax with large eyes. Her father stormed over, seeming more furious than she had ever seen. “You went out at night?!” He yelled, eyes on Faye.
“I heard something, I just wanted to see-“ Faye stammered, But was cut off when his large hand struck her cheek sharply. She grimaced, bringing a hand to her stinging skin, feeling stunned and surprised.
He ripped the remote away from her, turning his gaze to Dax. “You. I wouldn’t be surprised if you manipulated my daughter into going out to be eaten by the Corsai,” he spat, not hesitating to switch on the collar.
Lila ran up to the Mr. Wright and knocked the remote out of his hand. She switched it off and shouted at Mr. Wright, "It wasn't his fault! You have no right to do that!"
Dax's eyes widened when Fayes father stormed out. He knew what was going to happen next. Faye's father snatched the remote from Faye and turned it on. Dax yelled in pain as the shock collar sent an electric shock to his neck. He whimpered and fell to the ground, clawing at collar, wanting it off. His vision was splotched with dancing lights, pain coursing through his body. When it stopped, he lay on the ground, whimpering, waiting for Faye's father to turn it on again. Faye's father liked to torture Dax by turning it on and off at random intervals.
Faye’s eyes widened when her dad had turned the collar on, and she had been pleading with him to turn it off until Lila stepped in. Her dad turned on Lila now with a glare. “I take you into my home and this happens? I want you gone,” he snapped.
While he seemed distracted, Faye crouched down next to Dax, tears dripping down her cheeks. “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry,” she said quickly. She knew she had to get him out of here, get him free.
Dax whimpered on the ground, tears in his eyes. His breathing was shallow and quick. He wanted to leave. Faye knelt next to him, saying something, but he couldn't hear because of the ringing in his ears.
"Okay," Lila shrugged. This is normally how she got kicked out of homes anyway. She pocketed the remote and left the home. Keeping one eye on the shadows for any Corsais.
Faye’s father eventually stormed inside, most likely to work on a new remote. Faye stayed sat on the ground next to Dax in silence, blinking tears from her eyes. “I’m going to get you out of here,” she said softly as she felt her still stinging cheek.
Lila snuck back to Faye and the Malachi, "You could run away ya know?"
"How?" Dax wheezed. He managed to slow his breathing down.
"You leave?" Lila was slightly confused. She pulled out the Malachi's remote, "I have your remote. You don't have to stay anymore."
(I’ve got to go, will be on tomorrow)
Faye looked up at Lila when she came back and nodded. “I can try and muffle the shock, like I said, so it won’t hurt. And we can find something to pick the lock on it, just to get it off. There has to be something..”
(Bye!)
"I could try to pick the lock," Lila took out a pin from her pocket. She looked at the Malachi, "If you'd let me of course?"
Dax nodded, he was so desperate to go, he would even trust a human.
Lila began to work on the collar. The lock mechanism was easy after a few clicks the collar fell off.
Dax felt along his now bare neck. He was finally free, "Thank you," he said and bolted off as soon as he could towards the South Sector.
(Should he just get caught again or should he make it? Also, after humans find the unlocked collar, maybe they create another, more secure collar?)
(Maybe, I don’t know gtg bye.)
(Uh not sure, it depends on if he knows about the cave, that’s really the only entrance and exit between sectors that isn’t closed off. And sorry @Nerd I didn’t see that response!)
Faye exhaled and watched as he ran off. She pushed to her feet and looked over at Lila. “We are going to be in so much trouble,” she said with a faint smile, rubbing her hands together for a bit of warmth.

Ronan reached out and took Calla’s arm, counting the number of tattoo like marks on her arm. “Eighteen, that’s right,” he said, tracing the newest one with his finger tip. “You should be feeding more often, to stay strong.”
(I don't think he'd know about it, since he's been in the North Sector his whole life)
