Farah nodded, but her gaze was absent. Rosalind was planning something, and it involved Farah's daughter. She didn't like it. "Did Rosalind say anything about returning?" she asked quickly.

" im not sure.. it didnt sound like it."

"Are you sure?" Farah asked, her eyes serious. "Nothing that could be interpreted as that?"

" when i said id beat her, she said we'll see or something.."

Farah nodded. "Right…" Her mind was racing trying to figure out her former mentor's plan. "Rosalind has always been a step ahead of me. I refuse to let her continue that way."

"i.. im scared.. i cant protect eve.."

Farah gently placed her hand on top of Anya's. "You can. We just have to get past Rosalind's spells on your magic."

"but.. what if i fail.." she said and teared up

"Nonsense. You won't." Farah's tone was sharp, short, and incredibly certain.

" how do you know?"

"Because I know you. I know exactly how you feel about my daughter." Farah's eyes bore into Anya's. "You won't fail me, and you won't let yourself fail her."

" but i cant magic.. at all"

"With or without magic, you are trained and called to defend Alfea and its headmistress. Do you understand?"

" yes ma'am" she said

Farah exhaled slowly and nodded. "Good."

anya head eve come in " again thanks love."

"Of course," Eve murmured. She immediately caught wind of the serious atmosphere. "What did I miss?"

"nothing.." she said softly and took the food

Eve arched her eyebrows. She didn't believe that for a second.

anya sighed, patting the bed next to her and eating her soup

Eve sunk onto the bed and put her hand protectively on Anya's lower back.

anya finished her bowl of soup, leaning into eve. " i love you.." she said softly

"I love you too," Eve murmured softly.

" im sorry, for being such a pain.."

"You're not, my darling," Eve murmured. "Not at all. Why would you even think that?"
