"May be an enemy hideout. Stay on alert," Aurelius muttered, every hair on his body standing on end. Nox watched vigilantly. She flicked her tail in discomfort.
"May be an enemy hideout. Stay on alert," Aurelius muttered, every hair on his body standing on end. Nox watched vigilantly. She flicked her tail in discomfort.
"The k ly suspicious thi g I saw was this little red ribbon tied in this branch." Lucky told him, walking over the the ribbin
Aurelius approached. His breathing quickened a little bit. He went a little bit ahead of Lucky and snagged the ribbon so he could examine it. All the while, he seemed on the verge of panic. He held the ribbon in front of him.
"It couldn't be…"
Frost looked back at Nox what's happening? she silently asked her
Valkyrie had a red ribbon… But I don't think that's hers. She lost hers in our village, remember? Nox said.
"Maybe not… but if nothing else, it serves as a reminder of her. That's the last thing I need right now. But if it's not hers, that means there's someone else in the area- friend or foe, I know not…"
Aurelius started forwards and stuck to the shadows after drawing his weapon.
Lucky drew her bow and walked behind him. Frost nervously pawed the ground. "Frost, if the space was big enough, you would be able to come." Lucky whispered.
"Woah, guys wait for me," Farron jumped off his dragon and pulled out his sword, hurridly walking towards his two friends.
Aurelius moved around the edge of the odd rock formation and found a gap between rocks. He inched forwards, then suddenly realized there was no more ground in front of him, but a bit of a drop-off. Aurelius tumbled to the floor of the cave about six feet below, throwing his sword aside so he wouldn't land on it. He landed with a thud, but quickly scrambled back into the deepest part of the shadows. He grabbed his sword and looked ahead and a bit down to where there were a few people gathered around a dimly lit campfire.
Aurelius looked up to Lucky and whispered, perhaps just loud enough for her to hear, "There are other people down here!"
Lucky gaped "are you sure?" She asked
"Yeah… I'm not sure whether they're friend or foe, though," he said.
Pollux finally caught up to them and figured out what was happening. "Be careful, Auri… Scope out the situation before acting, please."
"That's the plan. I'm still observing. I think I saw children, so my gut feeling is that they're friendly, but I'll watch some more just to be sure."
Onyx yipped and ran towards Aurelius. Lucky groaned and ran after the slippery fox pup.
"How should we figure this out?" Aurelius asked, keeping a close eye on Onyx, "We could always send a single person in to test, but that could also be extremely dangerous. Otherwise, we keep watching, maybe get close enough to eavesdrop."
While everyone was discussing how to approach this cave, Arioch was changing Zuriel's bandages.
Nox crept closer to the edge where Aurelius had fallen off. This gap is big enough to fit a dragon… I would keep an eye out if I were you. They'll mess you up if they're enemies.
"Yeah… That's true…"
At that moment, a few people on dragonback were returning from patrol and saw the newcomers. They were alarmed and almost instantly prepared to fight. They didn't strike yet, but they did threaten.
Lucky spotted the newcomers and nUdged Aurelius. "I see other people flying in with dragons." She muttered
Arioch took a defensive stance in front of his wounded dragon with his swords drawn. Zuriel rose to her feet and also took a defensive stance.
Oliver walked up to the girl who had also been left behind along with Riven. "Hello I'm Oliver." She seemed close to his age maybe a bit younger, but she was tiny and cute and Oliver loved small and cute things. Mara was thrown into a cage that was under the somewhat too floor of the cave. "So this place has many stories to it?" She knew she was in trouble and that Zander definitely wanted something from her but she wasn't sure what.
“Who are you?” Pollux demanded, drawing his axe, “We’ve been through absolute hell, and we are not afraid to drag you down with us.”
It was fortunate that Pollux was the one who stepped forwards, as all of the burns on his body gave a clue as to what happened.
One of the dragon riders looked at him and loosened her grip on her lance. “You too, huh? That’s four villages that we know of.”
“Five,” Pollux corrected, “We’re from two different towns.”
Lucky stood in the shadows, watching from a distance in case they need to confront them. She had a tight grip on her bow and frost was not too far behind. She only hoped they weren't hostile.
Pollux exhaled slowly and dropped his axe to better convey his intent. Aurelius pushed himself up so he could see what the commotion was about, and he froze up a little. Nox told him to stay calm.
Quincy was waiting in the back. Jade and her were seeing how the new people would react.
"We good?" Pollux asked, tilting his head a little, "We're on your side, and we've taken a lot of damage. We're in no condition to be fighting, but if that's what you want, I assure you we won't lose."
A couple of the other riders swooped down and landed nearby, all seeming slightly hostile, but once Pollux had eased some of the tension, they all seemed to ease up a little. They were still on edge from what he could tell, but easily less hostile.
"Bring them in," another rider said from the back of the group, "I don't exactly trust them, but I don't really think they're lying. We can decide what to do as a whole once we get inside."
Lucky still stood in the shadows and watched. "What's going on?" She muttered. She walked a little bit Into the light and watched them.
"I don't know," Aurelius replied softly.
Nox flicked her tail. They're letting us in. I think they're from other villages.
The other riders made their way down into the cave and waited for the newcomers to follow. Pollux followed first and motioned for the others to come too.
Quincy nodded and followed after Pollux. She was wary and kept her sword in the form of a bracelet on her wrist. Alchemy came in handy.
