As Zander was looking through paperwork at some point he fell asleep at his desk. When he was asleep is the only time when he looks innocent and normal, unlike most times when he has a stone face. He dreamed of his mother and the girl who had killed her right in their home and in front of him. He searched for her till one day she just seemed to show up back in the village and had forgotten everything. An odd one she was as everyone praised her for some reason he did not know. And he hated her.
Mara sat restlessly in her cell, she wanted out to get some fresh air, but that wouldn't happen, not with these people at least. She sat in silence eating her food and repeating the conversation she had with everyone today, it may become useful. It would help if they talk about nonsense when she was around so she could figure something out that may help her escape. But, for now she'll just wait for the right time.
Oliver fell asleep against Nox. She was warm and comforting. He hoped his egg would be hatched by the time he woke up. Oliver dreamed of many possibilities of how his new dragon was going to be and it was exciting.
Valkyrie had found a place to sleep that night. She tried to push all the guilt away as she laid there, and fell asleep surprisingly easily.
Nox saw that Oliver had fallen asleep and laid her head down next to him, letting out a low, happy rumbling sound. Aurelius had somewhat been watching and also came to lay down with his dragon. He fell asleep quickly; he was a lot more exhausted than he realized, between all of the action they'd been through and him still trying to recover from his injuries.
Meanwhile, Pollux was up and pacing; he had helped this healer all he could, but there was just so much more hurt here than he could manage to witness right now. He was extremely tired and in pain, but so nervous and perhaps even traumatized that he couldn't have slept if he tried. Pollux had seen people die before… he had even had people die because he couldn't do enough to save them. But this was more than he'd ever experienced. He had to watch his village burn alive, lost his dragon, and came to a temporary safe place only to be reminded of all the death.
Farron, who’s been doing nothing this entire time and really jsut thinking and staying out of people’s way, saw Pollux pacing and walked over, “Hey, you right?”
Lucky left frost inside the cave and crawled towards the mouth. She sighed and curled up there.
"Yeah… I think so…" Pollux murmured, running a hand through his hair, "I've seen a hell of a lot over these past couple of days is all. I'm freaking out just a tiny bit, if I'm being honest."
Farron nodded slow,y, slipping a hand in his pocket, “Just sit and relax for a bit, Pollux. You’ve done enough for these people and need rest after everything that’s happened.”
"I know, I know… I don't think I could sleep if I tried though," he replied.
Pollux hadn't noticed before, but his hands were shaking a little bit. He hid them in his pockets.
“Pollux, one you’re shaking, two, you’re over worked. You don’t have to sleep just… sit for a little while… please.” Farron said gently, placing a hand on the boys shoulder.
"It's… it's because I'm nervous…" Pollux muttered.
He leaned back against one of the walls and slid down until he was sitting.
"Thanks for trying to look out for me though… It means a lot. How are you holding up after all this?"
Farron shrugged, sitting down in front of Pollux, “I mean… confused, mostly. Stressed, but not as much as I thought I would be,” He sighed, “I’ve never been one to… talk about things like this.”
Lucky sighed and walked back inside the cave and saw Pollux and Farron talking.
"It's okay if you don't want to," Pollux said softly, "but it's probably good to just let it out, especially to someone who's in this situation with you and understands."
He tried to smile a little at Farron, but he was hurting almost too much, both physically and emotionally, to make it convincing.
Farron sighed through his nose, “You’re hurting more then me, my problems are irrelevant… and it’s not like anyone cares so why even bother talking?”
"That's not a healthy way to think, my friend," Pollux replied soothingly, "I care just as you have shown care for me, and you've suffered too. You watched your village go up in flames, for the love of the gods! I would hardly call that irrelevant."
(Oof… I totally had this conversation with someone last night… and I was on Farron's end.)
Farron shrugged a shoulder and looked downwards, “Technically, it wasn’t my village…” He muttered, “People die and you have to learn to live with it in a world where you don’t have many people watching your back, I learnt that the hard way. But thank-you, for saying you care.”
(Yeah, I have conversations like this a lot)
Pollux chuckled just a little. "Of course I care. My job is to watch everyone's back, and it's heartbreaking to not be able to save everyone. It's something all healers learn to cope with, but when something this drastic happens? It's a lot to take in. I went from being able to save almost everyone to being able to save almost no one. But… whether it was your village or not, there were so many living, breathing people there, and they're all gone now. Perhaps it only has so much bearing on how you feel, but… I don't know what I was going to say, actually… this is just all too much."
Farron stayed silent for a while, “Rest, Pollux. You’re going to need your strength for the days to come and I don’t want you getting injured.”
"You should too," Pollux replied, laying his head back and closing his eyes, "We can figure out more of what to do tomorrow."
Farron nodded, “Yeah, I’m sure we will. Rest up, see you when you wake.”
Mara couldn't sleep that night, although she wasn't that scared or that she convinced herself of that, she didn't know what would happen. She was going to be tired in the morning, but having no one on her side made her feel lonely. Mara knew Zander wasn't just going to keep her in the cage the whole time, tomorrow something was going to happen and she knew it.
It was late in the night and everyone was asleep when Oliver had woke up. Even though Nox had the vibe of his mother she wasn't actually, so it was hard to sleep. He looked down at the egg and it had hatched. Looking around he didn't see much so he went to look outside. Riven heard foot steps and woke up. Oliver? He followed behind since he knew it wasn't safe for him out there. "Look Riven, my dragon." (This is his dragon https://pin.it/qa3rpd7blmp3wd)
(Cool!! Should we time skip?)
(Yes, that's what I was planning on doing.)
(Cools)
(I'm ready.)
