(Yay, okay. I guess I'll get started up again.)
It was night again. Aurelius had spent much of the day talking with some of the older refugees and deciding what to do. He didn't like the answers he had received, but he knew they were true. He gathered up the rest of the group he had come with and told them what was going on.
"So… we're basically the only people here in prime condition. So many of those here are simply to young or old to fight, and so that gives us more responsibility than I think any of us wanted. The general consensus is that we need to go spy on these bastards and see what they want from us. It sounds dangerous, but I'm hoping it has the payoff we want."
"Who should go? And should we take the dragons?" Lucky asked nervously
"I think we may all have to go. At least most of us… This is no small task," Aurelius replied, "We don't know how big the enemy side is, for one thing. We also need every type of skill we can get."
"I'll go along if you think I'll be useful," Quincy responded. She wasn't sure how much use she would be on this mission. but maybe some of her skills would be of use.
"I think you should… I don't wish to put you in danger, of course… I know I'm going. There's no arguing that. We need more people though," Aurelius said, "We should bring our dragons too. After all, they have dragons. We wouldn't stand a chance on foot if we were to come under attack."
Quincy nodded and looked to Jade, "Well are you up for it?"
"Of course," Jade responded.
Quincy grinned at Aurelius, "We'll be more than happy to come along and help out."
"Thank you…" Aurelius muttered.
Pollux lifted his head from where he had been looking down. "In case things go wrong, you need me, too. They have a healer or two here. I should go."
"That'll be really useful," Quincy nodded to Pollux. She looked to Aurelius, "No need to thank me."
Pollux shrugged. "I guess I'll try to find healing supplies and such. We can't have anyone dying, now can we?"
Nox grumbled, Do we even know where we're going?
"I can look for provisions?" Lucky offered helplessly
(…I forgot are there any ships in the rp as of yet?)
"Right," Quincy responded letting out a sigh, "I should go with to grab some materials and such."
"Yes, we need to get on that eventually. Are you coming, Lucky?" Aurelius asked. He turned to Nox. "We have a general idea of where to go, based on the formation of attacks, but we're aware they may have multiple bases."
(…I forgot are there any ships in the rp as of yet?)
(No, not yet.)
(Okay, I was just checking.)
"Of course, when will we be back?" Lucky asked
(Are they leaving right now or going to get supplies?)
(I have to go to bed soon, so I think they should probably just get supplies for now so we can wait for anyone else who wants to send their characters to spy to see these posts. I'm still up for now though.)
(Okey dokey)
Aurelius shook his head. "I say a week is bare minimum. It could be up to a few, depending on what we find, how easily we can sneak around, and if we face any complications."
"That isn't that bad," Quincy responded, "I doubt we'll get away without a complication, so it'll probably be more like a week and a half two weeks."
Oliver stood and ran over to Aurelius. "Let me come!" He was young but he was also old enough to go, well that's what he thought anyway. "I could be of good use, I know dragons better than anyone and we're not sure what mine can do but he could be useful." Oliver's dragon looked over at him.
"Oliver…" Aurelius stopped to think for a moment, "On the one hand, I think you would be useful. On the other? Well… I don't want to put you in danger. We should consider it, but if you do come, you have to promise to stay with at least one of the older riders at all times, and if we give orders, it would probably be in your best interest to follow them."
"Aurelius, you're a complete dumbass," Pollux interjected, "You'd bring a kid along because he's useful, not even taking into account that he's a kid. I know Oliver is extremely bright and capable, but I just don't believe in throwing children out into the front lines. It's inhumane."
Oliver turned to Pollux. "I wasn't asking you." He glared. He respected Aurelius, he was like his dad. "I've been around some of the most dangerous dragons ever, so tell me I'm a kid or don't know what I'm doing." He crossed his arms and made himself look bigger. After a few seconds turned back to Aurelius . "Can I stay with you?"
Aurelius nodded. "That's probably for the best… We seem to communicate well, and I've spent my whole life around dragons and fighting. I also feel like I'm more responsible for you than anyone else."
Pollux frowned. "You listen, and you listen well. You let any harm come to Oliver, and I will make your life hell. I have seen kids who were forced into battle and struggle too young, and just because they're younger doesn't mean people have mercy. I have had to save the lives of kids who walked out into a dangerous situation, and came out with a knife in their chest. Others? They weren't so lucky… Point is, you better take care of those younger and less experienced than you, and try to make sure they never have to suffer as much as you did. I don't think I can stop either of you. I don't want to try at this point… But for the sake of every god above, be careful."
"You're not my dad," Oliver mumbled. Pollux was being to overprotective whe he barely knew Oliver. And since he has a dragon now, he thought he would be fine. All he needs is to be trained in fighting and to practice with his dragon than he would be good. "With you teach me to fight with a sword?" His eyes lit up as he asked Aurelius. He had always wanted to learn to fight, but that wasn't something his family did.
