Liam nodded, "If you want to we can. Continue the marathon or no?"
Liam nodded, "If you want to we can. Continue the marathon or no?"
"Definitely," Kasey agreed with a slight laugh. She reached across to the table and grabbed the remote, then put the next movie on.
Liam let out a content sigh as he lent back into the couch and swung an arm around Kasey once the next film played.
Kasey picked her chocolate back up. She snuggled closer to Liam's side as she watched the movie.
(Skip?)
Liam rested his head on the back of the couch, trying to stay awake during the movie.
(Sure.)
Kasey stretched as the movie rolled the credits. She sighed as took a sip of her water, turning to Liam.
"It's getting pretty late," she pointed out, her gaze flicking to the window. "I might have to go home soon."
Liam nodded and tried to stifle a yawn, "Yeah. Do you have classes tomorrow?"
Kasey blinked and then groaned, putting her head in her hands.
"Yes… And I forgot to go to my last one earlier…"
"I'm sure you didn't miss." Liam replied, rubbing her back.
Kasey sighed and lifted her head. "I'll just have to ask someone for notes… I should be fine, if I can get to doing that." She chuckled a bit at a thought. "Honestly, I don't know how I'm making it through college as well as I am."
"Because you're smart that's how." Liam replied, smiling at her, "And amazing."
"Am not," Kasey mumbled, looking back down as her cheeks started to burn.
"Yes, you are." Liam replied, planting a kiss to her cheek.
"I can't even stop someone from hurting my boyfriend, how am I amazing?" Kasey questioned, giving him a look. "Not only that, but I couldn't catch one person on an otherwise-empty street…"
"You knew the risk of exposing yourself to a reporter and saved me. I don't care the wounds I received in the process. And you don't have to catch every single bad guy, Kasey. You're allowed to have off days," Liam said gently, "You're still amazing to me no matter what."
Kasey sighed and looked out the window.
"How am I supposed to do this? I don't know if I can take this much longer. School and my job and being a fricking superhero at the same time… That's stressful, Liam," she said, her voice tight as she turned back to face him.
Liam sighed, "I may not know what it's like to be a superhero, or to have to juggle that, school and a job. But what I do know is that if anyone can do that is you. Drop the job if need be, if it's really too stressful quit, but you can do it. Take a break from the job or school or whatever but… you need to do what's best for you above me, above Harper, above this whole stupid city."
Tears pricked in the corners of Kasey's eyes, and she took a shuddering breath, looking away for a moment. When she looked back, her eyes shone with tears.
"Can we… Can we just cuddle for a while?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper.
Liam nodded and planted a kiss to her forehead, "Of course, love." He pulled Kasey closer to her and rubbed at her back, "It's all going to be okay."
(Out for ice cream with friends while it's about 40 F and raining. Lol. We're smart…
And there's a baby who's had so much sugar she's loopy. Lol.)
Kasey buried her face in his shoulder, trying to keep her tears from escaping. It was a battle quickly lost as tears slipped through her eyelids.
(Why would you go out in that weather?!)
"Everything is going to be okay." Liam said softly running a hand through her hair then down her back, tracing soft circles there.
(Because it's normal for Minnesota. Lol. We're crazy here.)
"Mmhm," Kasey hummed through her tears. She let out a shuddering breath, her face still buried in his shoulder.
(And I thought me and my friends were crazy going out in 45 C lol)
"Take a deep breath and let it out slowly." Liam said softly, placing a kiss to her head.
(Ugh, I don't want to convert that to Fahrenheit. Lol. I'm full and lazy…)
Kasey did as he said, her breath shaking. She did that a few times as her tears began to slow. Once she had herself mostly under control, she lifted her head and wiped her tears with her hand as she looked at Liam with a weary smile.
(it's 113 F)
Lia rested his hand on Kasey's cheek, wiping away a tear, "Feeling a little better now?" He asked quietly.
