Kasey struggled against her bonds as soon as she caught sight of her boyfriend. When Matt walked into the room, she glared at him, her eyes shooting daggers.
"What do you want with us?" she practically spat, her voice shaking from anger.
"Straight to the point as always," Matt chuckled, "Well, you're active in the superhero community, correct? I take it you know the names of some of the… higher ups? I want the names, simple as that."
He walked over to the line of assorted weapons on the other side of the room and grabbed a small blade.
“And why should I tell you?” Kasey questioned, her eyes narrowed as they flashed toward the knife in his hand.
Matt shrugged, "I mean, you don't have to tell me, but it would help Liam if you did." He smirked, throwing the dagger from where he stood. It hit Liam's upper arm and he groaned in pain.
Kasey flinched when Liam was hit with the dagger. She couldn't just sit there and watch Matt hurt him… But she couldn't tell him any names, either…
"I only know one," she bluffed, hoping it was believable. "The Mask."
Matt sighed and tutted, walking over to Liam and pulling out the dagger, “You’re not very good at lying, are you?” He looked to Kasey as he dragged the dagger down Liam’s arm, the younger male hissing in pain.
Kasey wanted to look away. She wanted to be able to turn her head away from her boyfriend who was being tortured, but she couldn’t. She could only stare in horror as the knife was dragged down his arm, leaving a trail of blood.
“How many do you want?” she asked flatly, her eyes never leaving Liam’s face. I’m so sorry…
“Kasey, don’t do it.” Liam said through gritted teeth, causing Matt to dig the dagger into his arm harder.
“As many as you know.” Matt replied, grinning.
“Kasey don’t you bloody dare tell him anything!”
Where was Harper when she needed him? It would be really great to have some backup right about now…
“You know I have to, Liam,” Kasey murmured, wincing at the torture Matt was putting him through.
“No, no you don’t!” Liam replied just as Matt went to work on his other arm. He did the same thing, digging the dagger in then pulling it down his arm.
“Nightbolt is Daniel Stephenson,” Kasey blurted, flinching as she spoke. “The Pearl Phoenix is Amberly Hendricks.”
“Kasey, stop!” Liam called out though Matt quickly shut him up with a punch in the face.
“Keep going.” Matt muttered, but loud enough for her to hear. He pushed up Lism’s shirt and started to cut his signature into his lower stomach.
Kasey bit her lip hard to keep in the whimper that wanted to escape. This was sick. Sick and twisted. Making her watch as her boyfriend was cut to shreds? That was worse than physical torture…
“The Dark Eagle is Madison Griggs… StarRider is Alexander Regalia,” she whispered.
Matt stopped for a moment, only to pull out a notebook and pen to wrote down he names she’d told him, “Should I give him one of those over the eye scars you see in movies? He’d look good with one, wouldn’t he?” Matt grinned, finishing off the names before giving him said cut.
"No… Gosh, just stop," Kasey breathed, straining against her holds. "I only know the name of one more super. I swear it on my life."
Matt raised an eyebrow at her, “Well? What is it?” He asked impatiently, adding a few more deep gashes to Liam’s chest.
"The Mask…" Kasey started, squeezing her eyes shut to keep from looking at how bloodied Liam was getting. "Harper Taylor…"
“Ah, the brother,” He muttered, finishing off Liam’s last cut for. The day then wiping the blood clean from the knife, “Maybe later I’ll come back and Frost over here might have something to say.” He smiled before walking away.
Kasey finally opened her eyes once he was sure Matt was out of the room. Glancing down at Liam, she struggled against her restraints again before looking around for something she could use to cut them free.
"Liam? Liam, please be okay…" she muttered as she tried to break free.
Liam cracked a small smile and huffed a pain laugh, “I’m okay… don’t worry…” He replied, his voice croaky and hoarse.
"You're not okay… At least you haven't passed out from blood loss," Kasey muttered, falling slack against the board again. "Have you seen anything I could break out of this with?"
“Have you not seen the assortment of torture devices? I’d hand one to you if I wasn’t…” He moved his wrist so he could point to his own bindings, then his injuries. The tangy taste of blood started to hit his tongue and he spat on the ground, grimacing.
Kasey grumbled under her breath and let her powers go crazy for a moment. Weapons and other things spun around the room before most landed in their previous places. She kept a sharp sword thing of sorts and drew it towards herself. Careful to not cut herself, she began working on the ropes around her.
Liam could feel his consciousness slowly slipping away from him. He was sticky with blood and his head spun with the lack of blood. He slouched against the restraints, his stomach screaming in agony at the position.
Kasey glanced up from her work to check on Liam and found him in worse condition than before. She'd spoken too soon about him not passing out, it seemed…
"Liam? Babe, c'mon, stay awake for me, okay?" she pleaded as one arm was cut free.
