Kasey felt her breathing quicken as Liam was brought out. If she reacted too much, it would give her away. Just because Matt said that it was her boyfriend didn’t mean that anyone would believe him if they heard. And if they did… Her cover would be blown…
“Leave the civilians alone, Matt. We both know I’m the one you really want, right? So just take me and let everyone else go,” she said, willing her voice not to wobble. If Liam got hurt again, she didn’t know what she might do…
"I've changed my mind. You, I still want you, yes. But there's a new hero on the block," He looked to Kyle and smiled, "Nice to meet you……. Frost. You seem interesting, and Liam. Well, Liam is Liam, a great punching bag if I say so myself. So it's not just you know, Kinesie, it's all three of you…"
"You're insane!" Liam called, causing one of the men to kick him in the shin, hard.
"You're right, I am."
"Well, at least you know it. Why don't we talk in prison?" Kyle glared, trying to stay calm like he practiced so many times.
Kinesie was trying so hard to stay calm, but the way he just kept talking about Liam that way… Gosh, she just wanted to punch him so hard… She let small stones and things from around the area float around her hands, her powers going a bit nuts with her anger. They were mostly under control, but if this kept going the way it was, with Matt talking about hurting Liam, Kasey didn’t know how long she could take it without losing all control.
“I agree. Prison sounds like an amazing place to talk,” she declared, her voice shaking slightly.
"Ca I ask you something, Kinesie? Or multiple questions that is," Matt smirked, practically basking in her anger, "What would you do if I completely broke Liam in front of you? If I broke every single bone in his body while naming them? Or took out each of his organs in alphabetical order right in front of you? Then I'd just have someone put him back together so I could do it again. What would you do then? Send me to prison? Or would you kill me then?"
(Oh, gosh… Poor Kasey…)
Kasey dug her nails into her palm, shaking as she tried to control herself. This was bad. This was very, very bad… If this went on like this much longer, she might not be able to control herself.
“Just leave him alone. Do whatever you want to me, but just leave him alone,” she hissed through her teeth, her nostrils flaring.
(Ehehe, I'm feeling evil, sorryyyy)
Matt feigned though for a moment, "No. I don't think I will. It's fun seeing you riled up and angry," He grinned, "Now, back to the topic at hand, either let us go and we'll let the hostages free. Or try and kill or take us to prison and they die, your choice."
(sigh)
Kasey dug her nails in harder, enough to make herself gasp silently in pain. She immediately unclenched her hands, sure that she had drawn blood. But as long as she didn’t hurt anyone without reason, that was fine. Better her hurt than getting in trouble.
“Or you could just hand them over so no one else gets hurt,” she suggested with a tight shrug.
"What there's no fun in that," He replied with a shrug. Almost on cue, the men all tightened their holds on the hostages, Liam included. They all struggled, Liam clawed at the arm around his neck with no luck.
Kasey swallowed hard, seeing her boyfriend in pain. She hated this. Absolutely hated it. It hurt her to see him in so much pain.
“Oh my gosh, just stop it already!” she cried, sending stones to dig into the arms of the men holding the hostages.
The men held their ground before eventually letting go. The civilians gasped for breath, but they were fine for the most part. The guys holding Liam managed to hold him for a while long before eventually letting him fall to the ground.
"Kinesie, calm down." Kyle looked to her with a small frown, "Get a grip on your emotions."
"Let us go, Kinesie and we won't touch them again. Well, most of them." Matt looked to Liam and grinned.
“Try saying that when someone you love is being choked and threatened with torture,” Kasey muttered to Frost, shooting him a quick look that was clearly filled with pain. She turned to Matt, the pain replaces with anger in a second. “Let him go, and maybe the police will be more lenient with you.”
"Hmm… not gonna happen." He paused an listened. There was a loud engine roaring before A van came speeding through the crowd of people. Luckily, most moved out the way. It skidded to a stop and the door opened, the men climbing in quickly, one pulling Liam with him.
“No!” Kasey gasped, miscellaneous items flying toward the van and the tires. Something sharp hit one of them, and it punctured it.
One of the men cursed and Liam took the opportunity to head butt the guy holding him. The guy in return kicked at him, then punched him. Matt had disappeared at this point, a couple of the men gone with him, too.
Kyle shot a few bursts of ice at the people who were left, restricting their movements and keeping them stuck to the ground, "Go get your boyfriend." He muttered to Kinesie.
Kinesie glanced at him out of the corner of her eye and nodded gratefully. She hurried over to the bus and slipped inside.
“Leave the man be, and I’ll make this easy for you,” she said as metal and rocks whirled around her.
While Kinesie was doing that, Kyle took the time to get the civilians to safety, making sure everything was okay with them before going to free the men he had frozen.
The guy holding Liam glared at Kasey but dropped him nonetheless, backing away after one final kick to Liam's stomach.
Kasey formed a wall around them with whatever she could find. She dropped to the ground beside him and wrapped her arms around him. A silent sob shook her body as she buried her face in his shoulder.
Liam wrapped his arms around her slowly, running a hand through her hair a minute later, "Hey… you did great babe, please don't cry."
“I can’t… He would have… It hurt to hear him talk about you like that,” Kasey choked out, curling up closer to him.
"I know, I know it did but you're going to stop him before he can hurt anybody else. I know you are," He held her close, never wanting to let go, "But I'm okay right now, that's all that matters."
“You’re okay… Yeah. You’re okay now…” Kasey breathed, pulling away and rubbing her face. An odd look crossed her face, and she scooted back from him a little. “And none of this happened to you before we were dating… It’s all my fault…”
"Don't you dare think like that," Liam grabbed her hands and squeezed them, "I'd go through hell and back for you. I don't care if Matt does what he said, it would be worth it for you. It's not your fault, it's Matt's for being a psychotic idiot!"
“But you wouldn’t even be in this mess if it wasn’t for me!” Kasey exclaimed, slipping her hands from his and standing up. She moved a few steps away, rubbing at her face as she breathed heavily. “You would be fine, living a normal life…”
Liam hurriedly stood, hiding a small wince, "I don't give a sh-t! Kasey, I love you more then anything in the world. I love you more then anything in this entire universe. You are my universe. Please don't ever think this is your fault, or you caused this. I don't want a normal life if it dodn't have you in it."
Kasey groaned and pressed her hands to the sides of her head, an intense headache starting to come on. She couldn’t deal with this right now. Her head hurt so bad…
“I can’t… I just— Liam,” she breathed, her eyes widening and meeting his before she collapsed.
