“Good news! Eliza is going to be okay,” said Artemis as she finished the stitches. “When she wakes up, though, she is going to need to drink a fair amount of water. Nat, if you would be so kind, the kitchen is down the hall.” She turned to Kiania. “I’m going to sew you up now as well, as knife wounds without knives in them tend to bleed profusely.”
"A little blood never hurt nobody." Kiania said casually, waving her off. It was, in itself, an entirely ridiculous statement, especially considering Artemis was right. The blood hadn't spread, as she wasn't wearing a long enough shirt for it to, but it was making it's way fairly quickly down her front and to the ground.
“Saying no to stitches is not an option here. You got stabbed trying to protect me, and now I am going to do my darndest to fix it, yes? Okay.” Artemis said firmly. She felt terrible that people had gotten hurt when she should have been able to deal with the intruders herself.
"Alright, alright." Kiania held up a hand in surrender, showcasing what were definitely going to be bruised knuckles. "Y'know this ain't my first fight, right?"
“I figured that from the fact you have a knife on your person as well as superpowers, but I know from experience that untreated knife wounds infect quite easily, and that is not ideal here.” She cleaned off the needle and prepared her thread. “I’m very sorry about this,” she said as she began cleaning off the wound. “This is all my fault. If I could handle a couple of mooks without guns-“ she paused suddenly. “Why didn’t they have guns? That seems odd.”
"Maybe they weren't here for a fight." Kiania mused, nothing in her demeanor changing to show she was in pain. "Takes a thief to know a thief, and they were looking for something. Something specific."
“That reminds me: I still have to make sure all of the artifacts are here, and none were stolen.” She continued sewing up the stab wound, but glanced around the room and at the unconscious bodies littered across the floor. “What are we going to do with all of them? Oh god, Steven’s going to kill me when he returns home.”
"Tie 'em up and hide 'em in a broom closet." She muttered, half joking. "I'm sure we'll figure something out."
“Do we interrogate them? How is an interrogation even conducted anyway? The issue is, we’d only need one of them,” Artemis mused, tying off the stitches with a flourish. “Oh! There’s a cabinet of holding in here, with infinite space inside. Perhaps we could put them in there.”
"We could." Kiania nodded, looking down at the wound, and then her shorts. "Dammit, this was my favorite pair of shorts, too." She complained, pushing off the wall.
Eliza coughs, wincing and moves her arms and legs slightly but nothing else. Her visible eye blinking a few times
Nat had gone of to get water and returned. "We could what?" she asked Kiania and she knelt by Eliza to give her the water.
"Artemis says there's a cabinet of holding we could probably use for these goons." Kiania answered, ignoring the ringing cellphone somewhere on her person. "She also brought up interrogation, which is always fun. When you ain't on the receiving end, at least."
Nat arched her eyebrows. "These are criminals. We need to take them back to the new S.H.I.E.L.D. base for further questioning and examination."
(Sage… do you want to ship with me?
Eliza coughs as she downs the water, almost spitting it out cause it hurt so much.
((How close are they in age again?))
Kiania sucked in a sharp and dramatic breath through her teeth. "S.H.I.E.L.D and I don't have the best track record with each other. You alright there, Spider-Girl?"
(20 and 18)
"Eliza, swallow it please. It'll help," Nat urged before glancing back up at Kiania. "New S.H.I.E.L.D. ," she corrected.
"It's not 'Spider-Girl'."She coughs but chugs the water quickly and wincing, almost crying out in pain
"Slower," Nat urged. "Just take it easy."
"Adding the word 'new' doesn't change the fact that plenty of people don't like me." Kiania said, shaking her head. "Glad to see she's capable of correcting me. You're going to be in more pain if you try t' rush it, Eliza."
Eliza sits up, coughing and choose to ignore all of this. She leans her back against the wall
((Oh, and yeah, we can ship Camie))
Nat's eyes darted up and down the girl. "Oh? Let me guess, Kiania da Costa? Daughter of Bobby da Costa, also known as Sunspot."
(Cool!)
"Aw man, I was so close, too." Kiania snapped her fingers, feigning an expression that was perfectly summed up by the word 'drat'. "That's'a me."
Eliza looks away, gulps the water again and coughing, wincing. "Ahhh…. Can I go home yet?"
