Eclipse's paws burned as dirt and grass and leaves pressed into the burns with every step, making it harder for him to walk silently.
Eclipse's paws burned as dirt and grass and leaves pressed into the burns with every step, making it harder for him to walk silently.
Nik took a deep breath, looking around. Had they lost their pursuers? He could tell by the way Eclipse was walking that he was in pain.
Eclipse kept his breathing as even as possible, continuing further into the trees.
Nik let out a sigh.
Eclipse suddenly stopped, his ears flicking around. Tensing he suddenly bolted to one side, narrowly avoiding an arrow as men came out of the trees.
(sorry my last reply was so short, my mom needed me for something)
Nik tensed, throwing out shadows to try to confuse the men that were attacking. His golden eyes were wide. More arrows came raining down at them, aimed to immobilize, not kill.
(no worries)
Eclipse dodged two arrows, one lodging in his shoulder as he tried to run, not wanting to lose Nik.
Nik winced as the arrow hit Eclipse, and kept spinning out shadows, eyes wide. He let out a grunt as an arrow lodged in his upper arm, his left arm, and he stopped using that arm.
Eclipse kept going, but stumbled over a root, nearly throwing Nik as he struggled to his feet, trying his best t get away.
Nik closed his eyes as the men caught up. One picked him up and tied him. He fought, but stopped when they stepped on his left leg to get him to stop moving. Others approached Eclipse, surrounding him and trying to figure out how to tie up a wolf.
Eclipse growled, baring his fangs in an attempt to get them to back off. If he could get away, then he'd have a chance to heal and come back for Nik, though he knew the other would pay for it, it was quite possibly worth it.
(do we want Eclipse to escape, or nah? It's your choice)
Nik was already tied up, his black hair hanging into his face. He watched Eclipse. Please let him escape. Please. He wondered if he should have just let Eclipse escape on his own. He could have been gone already, without Nik weighing him down.
(I think it might be fun if he does)
Eclipse backed away, fangs bared, tail lashing as he ignored the blood from his shoulder that soaked his fur, and the pain in his back paws where he'd been burned.
(alright!)
One man shook his head. "Just let him go. We've got the one Seren wants." They retreated from around Eclipse, one man roughly picking Nik up.
Eclipse let his ears fall back, a low whine echoing as they took Nik. I'll come back for you… promise.. he thought, before bolting into the trees as fast as possible, knowing he had to get away before they came back for him.
Nik closed his eyes after Eclipse vanished. He knew Eclipse would come back. Or at least, he hoped so.
Eclipse ran himself hard ignoring the pain, his paws, his shoulder, his stomach and chest, his heart. I will come back… I promise he thought.
(timeskip?)
Nik didn't fight as he was carried back to camp. He closed his eyes and waited to see what would happen.
Eclipse was eventually forced to slow his pace, his head aching as he hadn't stopped to take out the arrow, and was thus sufferring from bloodloss. Though that didn't keep him from continuing on, knowing he had to be safe.
(ooh Eclipse should run into/find Nik's guards, maybe?? Or he heads for the capital of Kevra and finds them there? And they join together to find Nik. But they don't find him for a month or more)
Nik was thrown back into the cage, and the lock locked again. He was silent, curling into a ball to wait.
(I like your thinking!!! Let's have him run into Nik's guards who then take him to the capitol, trying to solidify against Seren before going back for Nik? (FYI I was planning on having him pass out soon, at which point he'll shift back involuntarily,)
Eclipse kept going, eventually slowing to a stumbling walk, his pawsteps echoing through the trees as he forced himself to keep going, his breathing heavy.
(Ooh alright!! Sounds good (alrighty))
Aron, Lieze, Errol, and the other guards were combing the woods, searching for Eclipse and Nikolas.
Eclipse eventually stopped, his vision blurring as he leaned against a tree. Carefully he tried to take another step, but his legs gave out and he collapsed, blacking out before he could get up, his body shifting back moments later, unconscious.
After a while, they spotted Eclipse. Aron darted over, wincing when he saw the damage to Eclipse. "Errol!" he called. Errol came over, and winced. He gently put his hands on the worst of the wounds, healing them up without even a scar.
Eclipse was out, not about to wake up anytime soon, needing to recover from being both injured, and sleep deprived, having stayed awake for more than 48 hours.
