"You've hurt him emotionally." said Eclipse softly, "that's just as bad as physical harm." he said softly.
"You've hurt him emotionally." said Eclipse softly, "that's just as bad as physical harm." he said softly.
The monster snarled again. "I am not talking about this any more." it retorted, and turned back to the bars of the cage, clawing at the metal.
Eclipse hummed softly, watching it. "You never meant to hurt him did you..?" he said finally, not sure if he was right or not.
The monster gave a snarling sound that seemed as if it was almost a laugh. "It doesn't matter if I meant to or not." he replied, still giving that strange laugh. "I follow my instincts, same as you humans do. I am hungry, so I eat."
"Yes, but a human will not try to murder one of their own." he said softly, Just the same as a wolf does not." he hummed, "Whether that's species, or family. But family is even more important, just like a pack is to a wolf, or a herd to a field creature."
"I have never murdered one of my own. I am unique. I have no family, nor any of my own species." the monster countered. "Killing humans is, to me, the same as a wolf killing rabbits or deer."
"Understandable, but it's not the same for Nik." he said softly, "Nik is human, and while it might not affect you, it's very frightening for him. He doesn't like killing other humans, though I believe he could handle that it it weren't for the fact that he also feels responsible for his own mother."
"And why, tell, should I care?" The monster asked, wings twitching.
"I'm not sure I can explain that.." said Eclipse softly, "Though maybe Nik would stop fighting you if he didn't fear you."
The monster shook his head. "I am the product of a curse. There will not be peace." he snorted softly.
"But maybe there could be." said Eclipse insistently, "Maybe if you just try…"
It turned to him with a roar, white, sharp teeth flashing and eyes like burning coals. The mark on its shoulder burned brightly, glowing a myriad of rainbow colors.
Eclipse tensed, shrinking back against the bars, his eyes locked on the creature, not sure if he'd angered it, or what.
"If you are so desperate for peace," it snarled. "Then kill your soulmate and end it. Until you have the guts for that, do not speak to me of peace."
Eclipse swallowed dryly at that, tense and fearful, the very thought made him feel sick. "I won't do that…" he whispered, knowing how easily he could, remembering what happened the night before, when… when he'd murdered his own father, right when he'd called for help.
The monster snarled again. "Then don't expect me to compromise for him. The only way to stop me is to kill him, and you haven't the guts for it."
(Am at retreat, wont be on much)
Eclipse swallowed dryly once again, falling silent as he contemplated the creature. He waited a few moments, before asking on more thing. "Do you have a name?"
(Alright, don't worry about it)
The creature stared at him for a long moment. It snarled again. "I have no need of one." it responded, clawing at the bars again. It wanted out so it could rip and tear and kill and eat.
"Would… would you like one?" He asked softly, watching for any sign of anger.
"I have no need of one." The creature repeated, not looking at Eclipse. It flapped its wings again.
Eclipse nodded, falling silent once again, only this time staying that way, his eyes on the ground as he tried to think of something, eventually just staying up all night studying the creature that had taken over his soulmate's body.
As morning came, the monster started to slip away. The wings shrunk and vanished, the claws retreating away, along with the scales and the blackening in the whites of the eyes. After a while, Nik was standing, swaying, before tumbling to the ground, his left leg unable to support him.
Eclipse looked up exhaustedly when he heard the soft thump of the other falling to the ground, he simply watched quietly, not sure what to say or do.
Nik curled into a ball, shaking a little. He looked over at Eclipse worriedly. "I-I didn't hurt you, did I?" He asked quietly. His voice rasped a little.
"No…" said Eclipse quietly, moving to come towards him. "No you didn't… he couldnt…"
