She looked around for something to grab the can with, eventually settling on taking out her blanket from her bag and using the corner of it as a oven mitt. It was still hot though and she moved the can quickly, setting it between them, "Holy crap that's hot."
He chuckled. "Uh huh." He said with a smile. He dug around for a spoon.
"You can eat first," She said, pulling her blanket around her shoulders after she finished using it as an oven mitt.
He nodded a little. "You sure?"
Delia nodded in return, shrinking into the blanket and watching the fire, "Yeah, eat as much as you want."
Jay nodded a little. He ate about half, then held it out to Delia. "Here."
"Are you sure you don't want anymore?" She asked, looking over at him and then at the can of food. She would happily eat the ret, but she figured he might want a little more.
He nodded. "I'm okay. Besides, you need your strength to heal up."
"Thanks." Delia nodded, taking the can and finding her own spoon in her bag before getting straight to finishing the food off.
Jay nodded a little bit. "Mm. You're welcome." He replied with a smile.
She went silent as she ate, setting her spoon down a few minute later alongside the now empty can. She leaned back on her arms with a content smile once she finished, glancing at the still burning fire and yawning.
Jay stretched, glancing over at Leo. The puppy was still asleep.
"Are we going to bother with trying to take shifts to watch through the night or not?" Delia asked, looking over at Jay, "Just so I can determine if I have to wake myself up in the middle of the night or not."
Jay shrugged. "We can do watches." He replied. "Probably safer."
She nodded, stifling a yawn and pulling her blanket further over herself, "Do you want to take first watch? Or second?"
He shrugged again. "I'll take first." He replied softly, settling with his back to a tree.
"Alright, wake me up when you want to switch." She said, smiling gently at him before pulling her stuff and herself under the tarp he had set up and laying down to sleep.
He nodded. "Alright. Sleep tight." He ran a hand over his hat, sighing softly.
Delia mumbled something inaudible in return, a hand resting on her gun that laid next to her and her other wrapped around herself holding the blanket in place so it didn't get lost.
Jay watched her for a moment, a faint smile on his face, then redirected his attention, keeping watch for anything.
She fell asleep after only a minute of laying down, soft snoring coming from her direction. A day full of almost nonstop walking exhausted her and left her sleeping deeply without even dreaming.
Jay smiled a little bit when he heard her snore.
Her soft snoring woke Leo up after a few minutes, and he sleepily trotted over to Jay before curling up by his side and falling asleep as well.
Jay reached over to pet Leo, smiling softly.
For the next few hours, Delia didn't stirr at all, though as the sun went down and the temperature dropped, she shivered every once in a while.
