Jay smiled a little bit. "Mm. Yeah. It's a shit road, though, so you're forgiven." he chuckled quietly.

Jay smiled a little bit. "Mm. Yeah. It's a shit road, though, so you're forgiven." he chuckled quietly.
"Still better than the woods," She replied, smiling gently as she saw Leo run past them and towards a bird on the road, clearly trying to chase it and catch it, "He'll be a good hunting dog one day if we ever get him to not make as much noise."
Jay nodded, and chuckled softly. "He'll figure it out eventually. Once he gets control of those long legs of his."
She nodded and her smile grew a little as she watched him jump for the bird but miss by a mile as it took off. Leo didn't seem deterred though and continued romping around, looking for other things to chase, "Yeah, hopefully he'll grow into his legs and get less uncoordinated." She chuckled and shrugged, "It is funny to watch though."
Jay chuckled softly. "Mm. It is." He agreed, watching the little puppy.
Delia continued watching him as they walked, letting out a small laugh every time Leo jumped and barked at leaves or chased birds that occasionally landed. He was so curious and happy, something that brightened her day in a word this crappy.
Jay kept watching the puppy, a faint smile on his face. He sighed softly, adjusting his backpack and looking around for any signs of any towns nearby.
"How much longer do you want to keep walking before we stop?" She asked, looking around at the road for any sign of a town, "I don't think this road is going to lead to any town or at least it's not going to lead us to a town anytime soon."
Jay sighed. "We keep walking until the sun touches the horizon, unless you need to stop sooner. I want to get as far away as possible."
Delia nodded, unsure of how they were supposed to find something to eat if it was sunset when they stopped, but not going to argue. "I don't need a break yet, but I'll probably need one more break before we stop finally if that's alright."
Jay nodded. "Yeah, that's fine." He replied calmly. "Just let me know if and when you need to stop."
"I'll let you know," She agreed, happy for the road even if it was rocky and not the best road at all. It was still a road, and much easier on her arms.
Jay took a deep breath, and nodded again. "Alright. Thanks."
"No problem blondie." She replied, cracking a small grin at the nickname and looking over at Jay to see if he liked it.
Jay rolled his eyes. "My hair is white, Delia, not blond." He replied with a soft laugh, shaking his head.
"Well it seemed rude to call you whitey," She shrugged but still grinned, looking up at his pale strands of hair, "So I decided on blondie."
He laughed a little. "Mm. Alright." he replied, running a hand through his hair.
Delia seemed happy as she continued walking, though she kept glancing at the sky for any type of drone coming over them.
Jay looked over at her for a moment, a faint smile flashing across his face, and then he looked away again, sighing.
"What's your favorite color Jay?" She asked, watching Leo as he pranced back to them and started walking alongside of Jay happily.
Jay shrugged a little bit. "Blue." he replied after a moment. "And yours?" he looked over at her, then back at the road.
"Reddish orange, I think," She decided, thinking for a few seconds and looking over at him again. Delia shrugged again, smiling lightly, "That or something in that red yellow range."
He nodded a little bit. "Ah. Alright." he replied slowly.
“How about favorite animal?” She asked, realizing she really didn’t know a ton about Jay and wanting to get to know him better.
Jay shrugged again. "Dogs." He replied, with a glance at Leo. He smiled at the puppy, and Leo barked at him.
