Delia watched with a smile as Leo whined impatiently before getting up, placing her crutches under her arms again and walking over to the line. It didn't take long, but it had been several minutes since she got in line to when she got her food and was placed with the predicament of carrying the tray and both crutches so she didn't just randomly leave one up by the line.
Jay got up when she got her food, and walked over to her. "Need some help?" he asked curiously, raising his eyebrows curiously.
"I suppose," She said, clearly wanting to have her foot healed so she didn't have to ask or take help from anyone, "Or, of you take my crutch, I'll try to hop back."
Jay chuckled. "I can carry the tray." he replied, holding out his hands. "If you want help, anyway." he raised his eyebrow a little, looking at her.
Delia sighed and passed the tray to him, "Fine, I guess I could use your help." She waited until he had a good grip on the try before letting it go and grabbing her crutches again to walk back to the table.
Jay smiled, and took the tray, carrying it back to the table and setting it down. Leo had already finished his food, and looked up at them with wide, begging eyes.
She followed him back and sat down in front of the tray, mumbling a quick, "Thank you," Before digging in. Delia tried to not look at Leo as she ate either, knowing she would cave and give the puppy some food.
Jay nudged the puppy with his foot. "Stop begging. You ate." he said sternly, looking down at the puppy. Leo whined, wagging his tail hopefully as he stared at Jay.
She couldn't help but chuckle a little and sacrifice a small piece of bread, tossing it to Leo, "There you go, you beggar." She didn't give him any more though, turning back to her tray and continuing to eat.
Leo wolfed down the scrap, and turned his eyes on her, whining softly. Jay nudged Leo with his foot again. "Hush."
"I'm going to end up starving because of you," She joked, breaking off another small piece of bread and feeding it to the puppy, "I'll end up giving all my food to you." Then she turned to her food again, this time trying as hard as she could to ignore the whines of begging from Leo and eat her food herself.
"Don't feed him anymore. He needs to learn not to beg." Jay said. He stuffed his bread piece into his pocket to use as a treat to train Leo later. He ate his food.
Delia shrugged, grinning slightly, "I like spoiling him though, he's adorable." She ate the rest of her food without feeding anymore to Leo though before pushing her tray away from herself and stacking it ontop of Jay's tray, "Plus, he's been really good so far, so he deserves to be rewarded.
"Well yeah, I know, but he still needs to learn that begging doesn't earn him anything." Jay countered.
"Begging can earn things though," She pointed out with a smile, purposely being a pain with her joking, "He just has to learn it doesn't earn things from you."
Jay sighed loudly. "Yes, I suppose that's true. But he's learned he can get things from you."
Delia laughed and shrugged, "That's because he can, I'll happily spoil him as long as he behaves and acts nice. So, in a sense I'm training him."
Jay sighed. "You should at least start making him sit before feeding him." He replied, looking at her.
"I can do that, that's easy enough," She agreed, nodding and looking down at Leo, "Hear that bud? I'll still treat you, you just have to start sitting and listening to me."
Jay smiled, and nodded. "Alright." He replied. Leo wagged his tail, looking up at her with wide, happy eyes.
Delia smiled and leaned over, petting Leo and staying silent. Maybe being found by the army wasn't such a bad thing. She had eaten so much more food than she had in the past week, she had slept in another bed and she finally was clean with an actual cast on her leg.
(what was the actual plan for the whole army thing? I know there was one, but I forgot T^T )
Jay sighed softly, and fidgeted with his hat nervously. He bit his lip. He was nervous about this. What if they found out what he was? Either they would kill him outright, or…or experiment on him to find out how he worked.
(If I remember correctly the plan was that Delia settled in really quickly and got super excited when she heard they were planning to go after the alien base to try to destroy it but Jay didn't like it so they had a fight about leaving or staying XD After that I'm not sure what I had planned to happen)
"Well, what do you want to do now?" She asked, glancing up at Jay and scooping Leo up so he was sitting on her lap, "We have all day to do whatever you want to do first."
(lol oof okay. XD yeah I guess we can play it by ear lol)
Leo barked softly, wagging his tail and wiggling around in her lap happily. Jay smiled a little, and shrugged. "We should explore the camp." he replied softly, thinking.
(I'll go back to try to find my original plan XD that's just what I remember)
Delia nodded and smiled back at him, agreeing, "Sure, we probably should learn our way around this place and plus that sounds fun."
